Higgins didn't play last year. He was riding the Cleveland Brown bench after they wasted a 2nd round pick on him.
To be fair, we've never stopped one of their tight ends.So we won't be able to stop Gallup? Is this like we wouldn't be able to stop Hollywood Higgins last year. Or the long line of individual offensive stars that CSU has presented over the years.
Higgins was a good player, good enough to end up in an NFL camp this year and who knows maybe on an NFL roster. Sheep lost 44-7 with him out there last game.
Difference between a quality P5 defense and a quality MWC defense is that the P5 defense can overcome and control an offense that has an individual standout. A lot of the MWC defenses had no answer for a guy like Higgins.
This game should be closer than last year, but honestly, unless the Buffs step on their dicks we should win by 21+.
To be fair, we've never stopped one of their tight ends.
FIFYTo be fair, we've never stopped any tight ends.
Clearly
I've been reading how CSU fans are saying how CU has no clue how to defend Michael Gallup because he's a totally different player than the first game from last year. Or how Nick Stevens is the second coming of Tom Brady.
I said this somewhere, possibly here, but we see comparable to better WRs in practice every day. Gallup wouldn't start at CU.I'd disagree we haven't seen comparable WR. It's the pac 12 baby! This aint intramurals!
I'm not so sure about that. He's right there with them. He's a likely invite to the Combine, I expect.I said this somewhere, possibly here, but we see comparable to better WRs in practice every day. Gallup wouldn't start at CU.
Who would he start over? I suppose you could take lil Mac out and put Gallup in his place, but I wouldn't trade Fields, Bobo or Ross for Gallup.I'm not so sure about that. He's right there with them. He's a likely invite to the Combine, I expect.
And if we had Gallup instead of one of those guys, we wouldn't want to get CSU's guy over Gallup. Very similar talent levels. He's a heck of a player. CU's advantage isn't in having one Top 10 pick stud who is on another level from Gallup, it's in having at least 3 guys who are as good. Maybe more, when we consider players like Ento and Winfree.Who would he start over? As you say, we have at least four guys who are every bit as good if not better. Our DBs have to face those guys every day in practice. Michael Gallup isn't going to scare anybody on our defense. And if we had Gallup instead of one of those guys, we wouldn't want to get CSU's guy over Gallup. Very similar talent levels. TDforTD - you are a geek (like me), and I love you for it.To get real silly, I think if this was a video game:
Fields, Bobo, and Ross would all be like 88 overall, while Gallup would probably be a 90. Not an insult to our group, anyone who has played the college football video games knows how crazy easy it is with multiple WRs over 85. Fields possibly an 89 while Ross becomes more like a 92 getting to play in the slot. Gallup is slightly better but that doesn't mean anything when Nick Stevens is an 82 and has an awareness of 75 while Isaiah Oliver is a 95.

He prolly spanked it while his helicopter flew itself. You've been around way too long to not have seen that video posted on this website at least 30 times. Remember the Walrus? He spanked it to that video every day in Afghanistan. And proudly told us about it.
Would you say this only because each of our receivers are taking away (stats-wise) from the others. I.e. if we ONLY had Ross OR Bobo OR Fields, would that raise the video game ranking? To get real silly, I think if this was a video game:
