Pac - still not an acronym.
I just mention it because people say "the PAC" like it's "the" SEC or "the" ACC. Drives me nuts.
Is it the all caps that bothers you, or the "the" before? Neither makes any sense, but I want to make sure we understand from where you're coming.
The 5 runs through most of the Pac???Is it the all caps that bothers you, or the "the" before? Neither makes any sense, but I want to make sure we understand from where you're coming.
Pac is an abbreviation of Pacific. So, it is not like SCUBA, POGs, LASER or NATO.
I had never heard of POG/POGs before last weekend and now it is everywhere - a couple of hurricanes come near Hawaii and people start drinking like fish or what?or POGs (the last one stands for Passion Orange Guava, FYI)
So did I.Wow, nevermind, I definitely always thought it was Pacific Athletic Conference

You may want to scroll through this link and see how it is defined repeatedly from about #20 on. In other words, that does not mean what you think it means. Be careful using the term in mixed company. But if you look at a map ocean names are usually in all caps. PACIFIC OCEAN, ATLANTIC OCEAN and so on, seas and bays just getting a leading capital - so maybe a shortened PACIFIC12 to PAC12 is correct?

So did I.
Yes - Pacific 12. Like Big 12 (which is different than The B1G). You wouldn't say The BIG.
