Thoughts after week 2

Not goal line, but close to it. Like the 5 or so. #98 was tasked to seal the edge, apparently, and thought the run was cutting back inside. He made a poor decision. Right place, wrong execution.

If you look back at the footage he clearly sees the end-around coming for a few seconds. He gets within a few feet of the RB but then lets up the gas. Go full out and tackle him, jump at his feet, at least put a hand on him.

On a goal-line stand like this a DB can't be the first person to touch the running back. Either a DL or a LB has to get a hand on the runner.

These are little things...we'll get better.

He sees it after biting on the inside. He had already committed and left his edge responsibility.

Either way better execution and that play doesn't happen.

Progress

A Road victory all the way on the east coast. This IS very positive.

Offense is playing better than last year and will get better. I think they'll put up more points this year. This is growth in itself. Now if the defense can show progression. Special teams.......still awful....maybe worse.

ASU has run the ball in 70% of their plays against an FCS school and NM. Hard to tell how our secondary will be tested. Maybe they've been holding back.

Work in progress.

Hey it's in Boulder!

Go Buffs!
