Time off for football

I got married in October. There is no conflict. My advice is don't marry someone who doesn't like to do things you care about. Lots of great Pac-12 destinations and tying in a Buff road game with an anniversary trip is a lot of fun.

This is true and completely appropriate in my marriage. But a whole lot of us got married while the Buffs were in the Big 12 and who wants to spend their anniversary in Stillwater?

The Pac 12 is about more than just sports here. It might save marriages!

Or marry someone that has at least one thing she likes to do that you don't, and vice-versa. Mrs. Skibum has absolutely no interest in "stupid football games." I have absolutely no interest in "stupid TV dramas." This works out well for both of us.

Also don't fall into the trap that you have to do everything together. She usually takes 1 "big" (i.e. long weekend and requires a flight) and 1-2 "small" "girls' trips" a year. I do the same thing, except it's guys' trips for football games. This also works well.

For sure.
