I've never understood why the Huskies use a Malamute as their mascot. I know they are bigger, but then they should change their name to Washington Malamutes.

According to the Bison Specialist Group of North America, the term ‘buffalo’ has been used interchangeably with ‘bison’ since early explorers first discovered the North American species, and has become entrenched as a colloquialism in North American culture and language.
The same cannot be said for huskies and malamutes.
