on one of the studios shows i was watching last night a comentator in response to Primes comment made the point that hate may not really be holding Travis back because Prime is news and gets people noticing what's going on.Prime said something in his post-game presser yesterday that is so right. (I'm paraphrasing.) The Heisman is for the best player in college football. It's been obvious since week 2 that he is the best player in college football. The only thing that's holding him back is people's hatred of me. Don't let your feelings for me affect how you think of the players.

By contrast these people don't stay up to watch Jeanty play.
Kind of like when Henry won over Mccaffrey because people weren't watching Mccaffery as much as Henry.
"He wouldn't survive doing that in a real conference!"I see both sides of it. CU definitely plays on more favorable time slots. But I also see people hating on Hunter for the most ridiculous reasons, and it's hard to figure out why until you put it through the lens of he pays for Prime. Playing in the Big 12 doesn't help either, if he was doing this in the SEC or Big Ten, they'd have handed him the trophy already. He's very lucky that his main competition is playing in a conference viewed as even worse.
God forbid someone throws a peace sign.My Dad keeps up with CU and likes Prime and the team, but complains about "why do they have to do that showboating when they score? We'd have gotten benched when I played *high school football back in the 60s* blah blah blah boomercakes..."
I'm like - Dad, that's just football culture now, get over it. These players love the media attention - it can make them big bucks. And our star player is a great kid who doesn't drink, party, or smoke, loves FISHING and video games, is a straight-A student, and is a darling with the fans. Cut them some slack.
Yeah, we may take a penalty every now and then (as excited as you are, you can't throw the ball into the stands Travis ). But it's just normal.

75% of why I don’t watch itI see that complaint about CU a lot, and I'm like, does anyone watch any pro football? There are celebrations after every big play. Sacks, turnovers, TDs...
Then you have **** like the big Utah receiver yesterday pulled after his TD. He turned and stared down our DB, which I was led to believe was a 15 yard penalty, but I guess he didn't flash a peace sign, so no big deal.

Did he give that kid his fitbit?
I've been close to posting "dude..." on several of your posts today. This one did it.Don't want to say it, don't want to say it.....

Dude...
Shedeur creeping up. 1 percent now.
I was saying this weekend a second Heisman winner would put us in pretty elite company.List of schools with multiple Heisman winners since 1980 (I arbitrarily picked 1980 because some schools *cough* Notre Dame had a bunch of winners in the 40's & 50's before the sport became more homogenized - like how the Celtics or UCLA due to a confluence of early structural anomalies in the sport racked up multiple championships. In the case of Heisman winners for example, ND had 5 Heisman winners before 1956.)
*USC - (5) - Caleb Williams (2022), Reggie Bush (2005), Matt Leinart (2004), Carson Palmer (2002), Marcus Allen (1981). [3 before 1980 - (1965, 68), OJ Simpson (1979)].
Bama - (4) - Bryce Young (2021), DeVonta Smith (2020), Derrick Henry (2015), Mark Ingram (2009). ALL SINCE SABAN.
*Oklahoma - (4) - Kyler Murray (2018), Baker Mayfield (2017), Sam Bradford (2008), Jason White (2003). [3 before 1980 - (1952, 69, 78)].
FSU - (3) - Charlie Ward (1993), Chris Weinke (2000), Jameis Winston (2013).
*Auburn - (2) - Bo Jackson (1985), Cam Newton (2010). [1 before 1980 - (1971)].
COLORADO - (2) - Rashaan Salaam (1994), ??????.
*Florida - (2) - Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007). [1 before 1980 - Steve Spurrier (1966)].
*LSU - (2) - Joe Burrow (2019), Jayden Daniels (2023). [1 before 1980 - (1959)].
Miami - (2) - Vinny Testaverde (1986), Gino Torretta (1992).

*ND (1) - Tim Brown (1987) [6 before 1980 - (1943, 47, 49, 53, 56, 64)].
*Texas - (1) - Ricky Williams (1998). [1 before 1980 - Earl Campbell (1977)].
*TA&M - (1) - Johnny Manziel (2012). [1 before 1980 - (1957)].
*Wisconsin - (1) - Ron Dayne (1999). [1 before 1980 - (1954)].
*tOSU - (2) - Troy Smith (2006), Eddie George (1995). [Only back-to-back Heisman winner - Archie Griffin (1974 & 75)] [5 before 1980 - (1944, 50, 55, 74, 75)].
*Army - [3 before 1980- (1945, 46, 58)].
*Navy - [2 before 1980 - (1960), Roger Staubach (1963)].
*Yale - [2 before 1980 - (1936, 37)].
If Hunter makes history, then that will put Alabama, Colorado, FSU, and Miami as the only schools whose Heisman winners have all come since 1980. That would be a pretty cool accolade.
Toss out Yale, Army, Navy; definitely Nebraska, and maybe Wisconsin, those are the blue bloods of the sport.I was saying this weekend a second Heisman winner would put us in pretty elite company.
