Travis Hunter Appreciation Thread (Awards: HE12MAN, Walter Camp, Biletnikoff, Bednarik, Lott, Paul Hornung, AP PotY)

I just went through all of the Mountain West's teams schedules.

The Mountain West went 3 - 17 against teams from Power 4 conferences this season. ****ing 3 - 17.
This. Even the coaches and players I know in the conference acknowledge the conference is really, really bad this year.

Article lays a great case for Travis to win the Heisman, and casts doubt all over Jeanty's credibility and somehow concludes:

"Travis Hunter and Ashton Jeanty represent two vastly different but equally compelling cases for the Heisman Trophy."

My thought was that Jeanty should really be at something more like +500, and the books are just trying to offset the losses on the Travis bets by making Jeanty bets more appetizing.

But maybe I'm wrong on that, because they would recoup more in arb if the price was only +500 on Jeanty.
They got a lot of buyback at 20-30/1 for Jeanty. Market dries up under 10/1.

Two of the three players ahead of Jeanty in all-time rushing did not win the Heisman. Barry Sanders did, but he played two fewer games (prior to Heisman selection) than Jeanty has and earned his yards in a Power Conference.

I'm not even sure why Jeanty is in the conversation.
I'm not one of those who think Barry Sanders is the best RB ever. He had huge runs but also killed a lot of drives with lost yardage (he had negative runs in the NFL for over 960 yards.)

Barry was though easily the most entertaining RB ever. He was always one handoff away from 6 points even against the best competition. Jeanty is a good RB but he isn't close to that level.

Bo Jackson?

Bo Jackson?
Bo was explosive, run through tacklers then away from pursuers.

Barry was more entertaining with his starts and stops, twist and turns, reverse the field. All the same things that accounted for those lost yards but he was fun to watch.
