Travis Hunter Appreciation Thread (Awards: HE12MAN, Walter Camp, Biletnikoff, Bednarik, Lott, Paul Hornung, AP PotY)

If Travis Hunter wins the Heisman Trophy on Saturday night, it will be 30 years since Rashaan Salaam won the prestigious award.
Colorado will also join the following programs to have multiple Heisman winners in the last 40 years: Alabama, USC, Oklahoma, LSU, Florida St, Florida, Ohio St, Auburn, Miami, Michigan.

Here I am with Rashaan and the Heisman in 1994. I hope CU does something similar with Travis and the Heisman for fans. IMG_8776.jpeg

How do you look 40 and 15 at the same time?

I'm not one of those who think Barry Sanders is the best RB ever. He had huge runs but also killed a lot of drives with lost yardage (he had negative runs in the NFL for over 960 yards.)

Barry was though easily the most entertaining RB ever. He was always one handoff away from 6 points even against the best competition. Jeanty is a good RB but he isn't close to that level.
Agree. And there have been better RBs than Jeanty since sanders played…a lot of whom played against tougher competition.

The Athletic’s All American list is kind of bull****. They listed Travis as the first team “All Purpose” player with the specialists and didn’t put him on the first or second team at at either CB or WR. They also left off Shedeur and wen with Cam Ward and Dillon Gabriel at QB.

The Athletic is a joke

Started with promise, then followed the playbook of its parent too closely

Athletic constantly publishes Prime CU pieces. Either knob polishing or haterade to drive clicks and conversation. It's not a serious sports journalism publication like they promised they would be.
It’s a rag masquerading as a serious publication. Unfortunately most media brands fall into this bucket these days. Immensely disappointing given the initial vision
