So, hypothetically, UCLA wins around 25 games each of UCLA's next 3 years. However, they proceed no deeper than the Sweet 16 in any of those years. Is he on the hotseat? Fired? I have an extremely hard time seeing how long Alford can last in Westwood, especially because they aren't even ecstatic about him to begin with. He's not known as a "tournament coach", either. Far from it. Hard for me to imagine how he lasts any longer than 5 years, MAX. He'll be taking the Lavin route in terms of overall results, albeit by different philosophical methods of getting there.
