Washington Game --- Official Thread (8pm FS1)

It really comes down to this for me.
Neither team knows who they are or what they have yet. Both teams have played a soft schedule and at times looked solid and at times looked rough. UW is going to be coming into a loud and hostile road environment, which they haven't dealt with yet (Rutgers does not count), and then you add in the altitude factor.
CU has a much bigger shot in this game then some fans are expecting.
Now I don't think we win, because I think UW is legit and Peterson is a hell of a coach (Damnit BSU, letting us take the wrong dude). Still think it is pretty close.
unless we fix OLine and deep pass coverage, I cannot agree that it will be close- unless 48-12 is considered close.
I am not too worried about the deep coverage. We were doing pretty good until Laguda had to leave. Fisher hasn't played or really practiced until this week, so hopefully we see him make a big jump this week.
OL is an issue, but there was improvement this week with Irwin and Frazier back in there. Still unsure of that group.
Taz has reached full revolution. Excited to see him show out on a big stage.

It's not unusual to travel for games, all I'm saying is that a 6 hour plane ride and a 3 hour time change is a tougher trip for a team than a 45 minute bus ride to SAF.
Key to the game, IMO.
yea, they got 5 yards before contact all day. LBs got blown up by Gaskin. Only thing that kept us in that game was the passing D.

The other side presents challenge as well. Two good DL, one really, really good, disruptive. Two solid LBs, both can run. And at least one DB that likes to hit.
It's a hangover from the way last season ended and the lethargic start this year and all of that compared to how we started last season. Last season we began the year with a "we are going to kick your ass" attitude. This season not so much.
Right, but if the front seven can't hold their own against them, it won't matter.
Last season was weird because the team peaked in the first third of the season and then wore down. This season is on the opposite trajectory and is more normal. I went into this year expecting to need to work out some kinks and that the team would be playing its best football in November. Did others think that it would be a team that started fast out of the gates?
Did you go into the season expecting many of the kinks needed to be worked out to be on the offensive side?
I thought the offensive line would come out in a much better rhythm. I think that has been the biggest eye opener so far, I actually said a couple times before the season started I liked what I saw from the defense in terms of replacing the defensive backs but the front seven has played pretty damn well considering what they lost.

Count me in the category that will believe our front 7 will hold up on D when I see it. MMac has said that during the offseason, he figured out what was wrong with our run defense against UW and Ok St. I hope he is right.
On the flip side, our OL has been struggling against just absolutely horrible competition. I won't be confident here, either, until I see it.
I'm honestly just hoping the weather ends up being OK. I can deal with a chilly night, just don't want to deal with another **** show that was the 2015 Oregon game due to lightning.
Boulder/Longmont both had lots of lightning last Friday night right around 9 p.m. Let's hope this same type of cold front doesn't come through Saturday night. If a game had been played last Friday there would for sure have been a delay of at least an hour.
