I really feel excited that Mac2 is actually rebuilding us. I finally feel like I can watch a road game....even in the Pac 12 and expect us to compete!!

I didn't even want to watch yesterday because I felt like we would likely just end up losing like the USC game. BUT...,What a shock to score on the 1st possession. We didn't just go 3 and out. Instead: Welcome back to Shay Fields! And welcome back to a real offense that is taking shape. Lindgren has some good ideas as offensive coordinator. I like what I see.

Let's not forget that under the CU-Arizona prediction thread, most people predicted us to lose in blow-out style last night. My expectations were exceeded. Hard to argue that.

Can't help but wonder what this season would have been like if our safeties weren't killed by injuries

I agree. Despite an error-prone QB and VERY thin defense, we continue to stay in games despite our best attempts at giving the game away.

I hope we get some more talent on D in the new class and Sefo either turns things around or another QB steps up to take his spot.

I cannot believe the improvement in the OL. They allowed too much pressure on Sefo last night...arguable part of the reason for 2 turnovers...but we are running really well and are #1 in conference in fewest sacks allowed.

100% agree. This is a rebuilding process. We have QB who's top ten in the nation in yards, top 5 in TD passes, has completed 65% of his passes and absolutely bleeds black and gold. He's the unquestioned leader of the team and we've got him for two more years.

In addition, we've got a decent stable of RB's for next season, and if Spruce comes back, we'll have one of the most solid WR corps in the Pac-12. Our line should actually improve even with the potential losses of Crabb, Munyer and Nembot and the defense will only get better with Falo, Watanabe, etc and the continued development of DMac and others.

Doesn't it seem like the coaches are actually developing players? It's been years since I felt like we've seen players improve. At every position we have seen improvement.

I still think Sefo is the guy at qb but they need to develop a good back up who takes the reins if the interception issue continues. I think Sefo moves our offense. He just has to get it fixed. Spring game will allow for some of the new QBs to show what they've got. I think Sefo deserves a shot to show he has earned the right to keep his spot too. Which new QB will be our future?

Nembot isn't leaving

Hennington on DT. Another preseason loss too. I don't know enough about him- is he a potential difference maker too that we will see again?

Yes and he should if he wants the extra year, which I think he will

Yes we are building and show flashes. Problem is, we cannot continue to beat ourselves. It makes your chance of losing go up about 10 fold. These guys have some bad habits that need to be addressed. I like our coach but there are a few coaches that need to hit the road. When you make the same mistakes weekly, that's not an accident. I'm not talking about Lingren, he's a keeper.

He switched to DE but he would have been a nice strong side run stopping DE for us I think

we need some "war paint" on our defenders.... utah d guys looked like the old tx tech d

Who ho should go from the staff. Neinas is the most obvious choice in my opinion. I would have said Baer earlier this season. D seems better and even with multiple starters out. Does he stay or need to go? Seems like he is earning his keep lately to me.

I wonder what part Lindgren has in this. Sefo is good but he is not improving on the INT front, his passes to the left side of the field still suck and his pocket presence (at least in the last game) was a huge step back. I think BLs offense is pretty sophisticated, so I don't see anyone challenging Sefo next year...I think he's our guy for 2 more years.

I'm concerned about the D. We are thin in talent and racked with injuries. We need some DLs and LBs to step up next year...we are getting some talent in those areas and the youth will continue to develop, so who knows, but giving up 300+ yards on the ground has got to stop.

Neinas should, I'd say Jeffcoat as well. Baer idk, but just look at how we stop the run. Fact is, we don't. It's just not on the field either. Part of the job is recruiting and that isn't happening like it should. These guys know it's part of the business for changes.

Really concerned with recruiting, was already hard with all the previous years of losing and now we are staring at ZERO PAC wins this season, kids with options dont want to go to the smoldering embers of a dumpster fire. The administration at CU waited too long to get facilities going, doesn't seem to be having an effect (and yes I'm glad we are finally getting them). HCMM and company are going to have to coach out of their minds next season, we need 7 wins sooooo badly....the pressure to start 4-0 will be immense...

Probably why this year has been so painful. We have been told we were in rebuilding mode for 8 years now. Fans are ok with rebuilding for a couple years, but 8 is too long. I think we are finally doing it though. Things are finally improving I think. Next year will tell a lot about where this program is and where it can go.

I don't think Lindgren is getting enough praise here. He is calling great games in my mind and has his offense in spots to make plays. I've seen enough from this offense to think we can be a top tier offense in 2015. Oline is also improved and I think we could be better in 2015 with addition of a couple bigger Guards. Let's hope they improve that run game over the off season and we could see a good to great offense. The key will be our QB play. Can't keep making the same mental and timely mistakes we have seen the last 8 or so weeks.

I'm not sure what to think of the D. If Bell and Awuzie come back healthy next year, we could have a stronger defensive backfield than this year. I've seen some improvement in our DE position and will have the same stable of DT's next year. The key will be to stay healthy at the Dline position. Nothing great but could be a solid unit.

Now to the position I am scared to death about. Linebackers. We have to find something here. I'm not sure if that means a ready to go JUCO or freshman, but we need an infusion of talent here. No way around it. Have to make it happen for this defense to take a step forward.

Saying all that, I think we have the right head coach. I'm excited for the future and 2015. I think Mac's rebuild is on schedule, although the wins have to start coming in 2015. No excuses.

Does Mac preach ball security in practice. Every quote post game is" they are young". It's he letting Sefo play with reckless abandon in hopes that he improves with maturity or knows the offense better and had the experience to make better decisions.

I have never heard him say they will work on holding onto the ball or make the correct reads in practice.

Been hard enough teaching them how to play football again.

Why we need two guys to coach the secondary when we take three pi calls on one possession because our db's don't turn around and play the ball is beyond me. Neinas needs to go for sure, and I wonder about the secondary coaches. I'd like a full time QB coach the more I watch Sefo. I think he can benefit from it.

Bro Lindgren turned Fales from a JuCo to a Draft pick. I think you are delusional. Lindy has no control of sefo throwing that bad of pick. Those are on sefo himself.

This thread is a giant circlejerk. Best WR corp next year? LOL. Sure, keep believe that. You must not watch other Pac12 teams. We'll have a good WR corp, but it's middle of the pack.
