Week 1 (Nov 8 - 14) Games Thread

I had planned to watch #2 UCLA vs #4 Villanova. Fell asleep before tip. Just read the recap. I guess I missed a great game.

I turned it off midway in the third right before the comeback. Damn

I'm watching them play Villanova. Pauley might be 2/3 full.

SoCal sports fans are the worst in the country.

Friday, the 13,659 fans in attendance got to witness what they had to watch from afar last March, with 2,000 miles between them and their hometown team.

Then a new record was set when 13,727 fans watched the Bruins defeat the Arizona Wildcats 74–69 on March 2, 2013.

Is Pauley close to UCLA student housing? Could be that a bunch of students decided to go when they saw the game was close late in the 2nd.

I knew two guys who did that for a big VT hoops win in the early 2000s, showed up with 2 minutes left, just so they could rush the court.

Yeah, not my alma mater. UCSD is transitioning to D1 and I don’t even think is eligible for the NCAA tournament for the next two years. USD on the other hand is eligible for the NCAA tournament, but will also not be participating because we suck. The group that beat CU is gone. 3-11 last year in Covid season, 9-23 two years ago. We did receive an AP top 25 vote last year after losing to Gonzaga by 40, I’m pretty sure it was supposed to be a USC vote and they chose the wrong school on the voting platform. 🤣
And, USD took down Nevada in Reno as 14 point dogs. Maybe we’ll be decent?

It's so damn impressive the way Gonzaga has reloaded. To lose Suggs, Kispert and Ayayi but still be this good the next year is amazing for a non- Power Conference program.

DU lost to an NAIA team on Friday. Rodney did not leave his alma mater in a good place.
