Still a joke we're behind Penn State and Wisconsin. We're 2-2 vs Top 25, they're 1-2/0-2. We played tougher OOC's, and our two losses are to #4 and #11. Hopefully the result of that game is a blowout so the Cotton Bowl is our worst case scenario.

With the Buffs at 8 and U$C at 11, I now think the Rose is a decent possibility even with a close loss to U-dub. We would likely drop below the winner of the OU OSU matchup but still above USC. Based on the rankings and what Kirby said is their priority in ranking the teams, I don't see how we can get into the top 4, even with a Clemson loss.

FWIW, it's probably the best financially for the PAC-12 (and therefore the Buffs), if U-dub makes the CFP, the Buffs get the Rose, and U$C gets the Cotton.

I like the committee, they're rewarding the buffs for beating good teams. IF and I'm sorry to say this. But, IF we lose to Washington but we show up and play well I firmly believe they will keep USC below us. They've made a habit all year of not punishing teams for good losses.

Yep, they actually moved Utah up 2 spots this week for playing us close. I think we may be out of it though without a Clemson loss. The key was whether they would be willing to jump us ahead of one of the B1G schools and they didn't do it. If only Michigan had won that damn game last week, we would have been sitting pretty in control of our own fate.

USC will be atleast number 10 after the OU osu game since that is a regular season game. I honestly think it comes down to if we get blown out or not, precedent shows we will probably be 9 with a close loss.

Maybe @PhillyBuff is right about Michigan being selected. Who would have thought the committee would be as stupid as he is.

Not even sure why he bothered to emphasize how close 4 and 5 were, one of those teams is done for the year, the other faces #8.

They aren't putting 3 Big 10 teams in and OU has no shot, either. If Clemson loses, they're out, IMO, and couple that with us beating #4 UW and being a conference champ, and I honestly think it will be Bama, OSU, Big 10 Champ and CU.

The way the committee has positioned themselves and the fact that the Buffs lose the head to head argument does seem to suggest 3 B1G teams in the final 4. If Clemson and U-dub lose, the committee has definitely put themselves in a box. I would love to see this scenario play out because of the fireworks that would follow. Perhaps the catalyst to increase the # of teams in the playoff...

That would create a ****storm from all 3 of the P5 conferences left out that they don't want to deal with. There's no chance they put 3 B10 teams in under any scenario, IMO.

I don't disagree w/ your first sentence at all. But if the committee really thought this through, they would have dropped UM at least one more spot to provide them the justification of moving #8 into the #4 slot if this scenario were to play out. If it does play out this way, it will be a ****storm regardless.

when you compare all the computer metrics i think we should be ahead of wisco and pedo st.... i think where we get hurt a bit is the conf we are in and also a little bit of the so called eye test .......also just the fact that we are "colorado" and have been off the map for a decade. i think as stated already it was huge to move up that one spot to seperate from usc uck so if we battle wash to the end but lose we have a great shot of only dropping one spot

First, I think worst case scenario is the Rose Bowl. I don't see how we fall three spots with a loss to Washington, especially when the two teams between us and USC play each other on Saturday. Two, we clearly make the playoff with a win and a VA Tech win. They're not taking three B1G teams, and they've clearly eliminated the Big 12 champion with these rankings.

If you think I am crazy.... try this exercise....

Compare Wisconsin, PSU, Colorado, and Michigan side by side..... just list the wins over top 25 teams, and the ranking of the teams that beat them.... then list head to head if applicable.

It's not even close.... you get:

Michigan
Colorado
Wisconsin
Penn State

I think some of you are hung up on the fact that Michigan got beat in 2 out of the last 3 weeks and didn't win their division.... well, you can't judge it that way. Because non conference games are not even close to equal.... and the divisions aren't equal either.... therefore, you have to look at each game individually. When up put up the teams wins and losses.... and view each team as A,B,C, and D....... you can see that it's not even close....

Let's also keep in mind that one of the loudest voices in the room is Barry Alvarez. B1G homer and Fusker. Good thing he'll have to recuse himself if Wisconsin beats Penn State.
