22. Colorado Buffaloes (3-0)

It finally gets real for the Buffs. After one of the cushiest nonleague schedules in the FBS, Colorado now hosts Washington. QB Steven Montez (357 pass yards, 4 TDs) looked good Saturday.

Previous Rank: 24
Week 3 result: Defeated Northern Colorado, 41-21
Up next: vs. Washington (10 p.m. ET)

Six top 25 team lost yesterday, and at least 2 will drop from the rankings completely, with the possibility of Stanford and KSU also falling out.

#25 UCLA
#23 Tennessee
#19 Stanford
#18 Kansas State
#14 Louisville
#12 LSU

I think CU will make an appearance at #25 this week with 4 teams falling out. All the AP voters see is 3-0, a 20 point win, and Montez dropping 357 yards and 4TDs

Am I the only who doesn't give a **** about if we're ranked this week or not?

The Gameday question has already been answered. Our TV slot has already been decided. We have no idea where we actually stand as a team.

The ranking question will work itself out next weekend. We'll either be unranked after a loss or ranked after a victory. Going in at #24 just to immediately lose to UW holds no real interest for me.

Good publicity for the program. Good for recruiting. Meaningless otherwise. Sefo had a great line about it last year. Said something like "it's not like we're going to get spotted extra points in the next game or anything".

Wow, CU fan saying it'd be embarrassing to be ranked. Unreal.
Going from unranked to ranked by beating a G5 team and two FCS teams is embarrassing. Especially in the manner in which we struggled. That would be the exact same thing we give the SEC and Big 12 **** for every year. The question comes down to, is it jealousy or are those teams truly pathetic for doing the same thing?

Put it into context, though. CU ended 2016 ranked #17. They dropped to #27-#29 to start the season and have gone 3-0 with an average win against their opponents of 32-9. As Alfred said, it doesn't really matter because it will take care of itself next weekend, but it shouldn't be embarrassing that CU is ranked at this point.

We also lost the majority of the defense from last year as well as the coaching staff that plane a substantial part in ranking. We are not in a position to be ranked off of reputation like other schools that can lose something like that and still going to the season ranked.

And yet, the defense has given up 9 points/game through 3 games. I don't care who they've played, that is impressive.

I'd rather us not make it and go into Washington motivated. Montez' head is already the size of a hot air balloon and he's on the verge of floating away. This team hasn't played consistently well and while they have a case for the top 25. I'd rather them shock the world and earn it by either beating Washington or making it a serious game deep into the 4th.

I'd be embarrassed to show up 24-25 and then get demolished and laughed out next week. SEC teams do this every year, I don't want to be them.

I don't care about being ranked this time of year. If we are, good. If not, so be it. I'm more worried about this team becoming just that.

Yep with the Stanford loss we're definitely in the top 25!
Not so fast my friend. Oregon and Mississippi State definitely hop over us. San Diego State might. Louisville will still be ranked. I think we're still just outside.
No, they wont. Ohio State went from 2 to 9 after a 15 point loss at home to Oklahoma. Clemson beat Louisville at home by 4 touchdowns. They don't belong in the polls. Don't forget about Tennessee, Kansas State, and LSU. My guess is we're 24th.
I was right on all counts.
