West Virginia game

Anyone thinking about going to the West Virginia game?

Has anyone been to a game in Morgantown?

Trying to see if this is doable. Fly in / out of Pittsburgh, drive down. Tickets seem to be quite high ($200+). VRBO seems to be the way to go, hotels are god awful.

I was looking at that game, but getting there seemed a bit more challenging and expensive so I think we are going to Houston instead.

I went back in ‘09. Drove up from DC and stayed in a cheap motel. It was the Alumni Association’s designated away game so they had a big event with Mike Bohn Friday before the game and a pregame tailgate, so I didn’t do a lot of exploring (I was in charge of the DC alumni club at the time, so kinda had to be at the events).

In-stadium experience was fun. The WVU fan next to me was quite pleasant, despite his chaw and missing teeth (not joking). I was disappointed I didn’t see any burning couches.

I also laid low on the after game because my wife was 36 weeks pregnant, so I had to remain sober in case La Gringita decided to come early. (She didn’t).

I also met Skiddy in person and we got along great.

We looked at going, but when I added up the costs, airfares, car, hotel, tix; I found we could take a cruise with drink package. The WVa game is my anniversary weekend so the cruise looks better. I can cheer from the ship.

If you had gotten full buy in on "Honey, let's go to Morgantown for our anniversary" we would all be bowing down in awe.

My wife and I are seriously thinking about going and fitting it into an East Coast business trip since we now have projects developing north and south of there. Would really like to see a game there and I have always liked West Virginias program

My friends and I have already booked an air bnb for about 10 of us. So that will be cheap per person.

Need to buy airline tickets which sounds like will be expensive but the game tickets shouldn’t be too bad once CU drops those

I'm planning on going although it's not set in stone yet. We would drive up but not have looked into where to stay yet, I'm guessing there's not a lot of hotels in Morgantown?

I’m thinking about it. Game time is TBD. Anyone have a guess whether it’s likely to be a day game or night game?

I'm gonna try and make it. The November sailing schedule is way, way, TBD right now.

We'll be in the Chesapeake the weekend before, but who TF knows if we'll be pushing hard to go south after that.

If Mrs skibum is still employed, I'll definitely be there.
