What are the expectations at CU going forward?

Steady improvement, continued improving of talent, escalating regular Top 30 recruiting classes, moving towards top 20.

Expecting 10 wins again next season is unrealistic, but we should be regularly going to bowls now, and starting to regularly stretch up to compete for conference titles.

Same as they ever were.

Bowl game every year winning between 6 and 9 games.

Go on a run to get double digits a couple times a decade.

As long as we're in a bowl game in 2017 with all the turnover (QB and 8 defensive starters), I'll feel like success is sustained and we've stabilized this thing.

Honestly, just as I think that the 2015 team was a 6 or 7 win team (13 game schedule with no P5s in non-con) without things breaking unusually badly... I thought the 2016 team was a 7 or 8 win team without things breaking unusually well.

2017 would show the ship is righted and this thing is on solid footing if the team gets 6 or 7 wins. Opener against CSU will be tough, but should be no worse than 2-1 in non-conference and maybe 3-0. Then, probably a 4-5 year in Pac-12 play that could be a bit better if things gel (5 road conference games & only 4 home in 2017).

Not to settle for "2016 sure was good"

Play like the big boys, pay like the big boys

I expect us to challenge about every year for the South and be top 25 rated. There will be years that we aren't, but that's the bar. If HCMM can do it with a bunch of guys that mostly had no other P5 offers, he can do it with the types of guys we are now getting.

Still to be determined.

Expect a slip backwards but not a slide, 8 wins and a bowl game. Set up to go back to 10 wins the following season.

This years team had a lot of key seniors including most of the defensive backfield and the starting DL and Gilbert at OLB.

Offense loses Sefo but overall I think should be better.

Key questions that could have a major impact:
Can we sign one or more of the JC Nose tackles to take over for Tupou. Critical spot on our defense.
Can one or more of the young OL step up and impact. Expect Lynott to move to center, who are the guards. Can Haigler, Miller,Lisella, Kaiser step up and improve the OL playing over the remaining upperclassmen.
Can we find somebody who can kick a football and somebody else who can cover kicks. Need to improve on special teams.

We will miss the leadership from this group of seniors, especially Sefo. I think though that QB will end up being at least even if not better. Montez will continue to mature and his playing time this season will help him a lot in offseason development.

We have seen recruiting take a big leap this year, so I think if that trend continues, the expectations should be to challenge for a Pac 12 title every 3 or 4 years. Hopefully, win the Pac 12 1-2 times a decade, or close to that. After that will be icing on the cake. Will also have some seasons that will be bad.

My first and base level expectations are to play clean off the field. I have no interest in seeing recruiting scandals and/or violations. It sucks that we won the Fulmer Cup last year, but I'm willing to blame that as a one off because Robins went off the deep end, but the Falo/Gordon incident is not particularly encouraging either. This can't be a pattern; I'm still on the fence if it was a good idea to let Kafovalu have 9 lives. The guys can't be abandoned for youthful indiscretions, and I believe heartily in the value of getting scholarships to guys from rough backgrounds and making successes out of them, even if they step out of line once. So yeah, that's a complex issue, but I'd honestly prefer 2-10 with a clean nose to 14-0 with a lack of institutional control.

That said, I also reasonably expect that it's possible to win in Boulder with the facilities and the natural draw of the campus, even while following the rules. I expect to go to a bowl game every year and win the division at least every 5 years on average.

In the near term, I think something like 7-5 would be underwhelming but completely acceptable next year, but it can't be the consistent standard. I'm alright with that kind of result when you lose a group of seniors like we will be losing this year.

my expectations haven't change in the many decades i have been a Buff.

always win more games than you lose.
play in a bowl game every year; win at least half of them.
contend for conference championships every year.
win a conference championship every few years.
always be in the top 25.
sometimes be in the top 10.
always have a top 20 recruiting class, sometimes better.
play tough against ranked opponents, even on the road.
be in the conversation by upsetting higher ranked teams and by having guys individually excel at their positions.
once in awhile, contend for the nc; maybe win one once in a great while.

I'll post my expectations for CU once the 2017 schedule is released.

Here is an image for you. The PAC for the Buffs is like a sexy coed on the **** Bailer campus. She just waiting to be ****ed.
I hate Bailer because of their perpetuation and acceptance of the idea that reducing an attractive female's role in the world to "She just waiting to be ****ed" is somehow acceptable.

Expect a bowl game from here on out, but sometimes could see a miss if we get the bad programs on the road and the good ones at home. The Pac-12 south will never be as dreadful as the Big 12 North and 9 conference games can be brutal.

Beat CSU and other MWC teams 5:1. No more losses to FCS teams.

A chance for a PAC 12 south title very 3ish years and a chance at the Pac-12 title game every 5. Be in he playoff talks once every decade.

I think the expectations for CU (from an average W/L standpoint, not necessarily when it comes to turmoil) should be the Mallory/Crowder or Neuheisel/Barnett eras. The McCartney era is something that may not be replicable. The Fairbanks/Hawkins/Embree eras were unacceptable.
