What are the expectations at CU going forward?

I don't know why it is safe to assume that CU has permanently jumped Utah in the pecking order of the P12 south? They have been good for a long time now.
First, I don't think anybody said that. Second, when CU has it rolling, they absolutely should be ahead of Utah in every way imaginable.

My rosy "expectations" above are contingent on CU keeping Rick George (or equal) and school administration maintaining a vision to compete. All bets are off if their replacements come in and deemphasize athletics.

That's an ancillary benefit to the new facilities. Deemphasizing athletics would be very hard for even the most nonsupportive admin.

Win 2/3 of conference games at worst during rebuilding years. Always competitive in games with Top25 teams. Never get skunked against unranked teams. Win recruiting battles for some high level players. Keep our noses clean and academics up. Have years above this level at times.

That would make me happy on a regular basis.

If we became Alabama or tOSU good that would be epic. But thats the 1%. Being a regular pre season top 25 team though means we are taken seriously again.

We have seen recruiting take a big leap this year, so I think if that trend continues, the expectations should be to challenge for a Pac 12 title every 3 or 4 years. Hopefully, win the Pac 12 1-2 times a decade, or close to that. After that will be icing on the cake. Will also have some seasons that will be bad.

Add in being in the discussion for the playoff once or twice per decade and this seems the most realistic.
