What makes Tosh Lupoi such a great recruiter?

I'm pretty sure the only Buff's to be "dropped" in the last 5 years are Obi and Dillon. And Obi was definitely deserving. Still TBD on Dillon
 
Tosh left Cal because Sarkisian is paying him almost twice what he would've gotten at Cal. Money talks. Plus I believe he got a promotion too.

There were also issues with the relationship he had with Tedford.

The following may be an absurd statement, but the lack of results relative to the talent Cal has hauled in over the Tedford era combined with Tosh's recruiting prowess make me seriously question whether or not Cal backed the wrong guy.
