I just don't want to be alone with BYU in the west. So as long as it's 14 through a Pac-12 defector or 16 through at least 2, I'll be pretty happy.

What I would have a hard time stomaching would be if it was 16 through UConn, USF and Memphis but I think the odds of that are about as close as you can get to zero.

Oregon State because they’re the only other team in the conference that I root for (and it’d piss everyone off)

The New big 12 (pre CU, post UT and Oklahoma) is a better football conference with a better brand of football than the Pac -12. (Especially removing UCLA and USC).

I’m all in favor of adding UW and UO but I’m sick of the “Big -12 is bad football”narratives.
Let's be clear, I wasn't comparing the P12 to the B12 top to bottom. My point was that taking the best teams from the P12 and adding them to the B12 makes the B12 a clear Power conference. Without them (and discounting CU because well, we've sucked in the last couple of decades) looks meh...ok.

So what teams are consistently good and legitimate P5 football schools? TCU is solid right now, but history says it will likely return to the mean. Okie Light is probably one of their better teams and has been consistently good. The others have had some good years here and there, but they just aren't awe-inspiring. So yeah, it's a power conference, but in my view, a weak one. Adding UW, UO and Utah makes the conference formidable.

Regardless, it's CU's best option. It is what it is.

Quite reading the board and you will feel better.

K-State, Okie St., Texas Tech, are all legit P5 football programs. They all have bad years but they consistently get wins and pull off upsets against high ranked teams.

The one unspoken opinion for B12 acolytes is that **** Bailor is some sort of national brand - sort of an Oregon-lite.

Um, no, they are not. They are just **** Bailor.
