Who do expect to transfer after the season? (Can't say everyone)

1) Victor Venn - Behind W/O Offerdahl and 2 of the slowest RB1s in CFB. That's a recipe for taking the Midnidght Train back to Georgia.
2) Owen McCown - Whether or not he gets significant PT the rest of the way, Dad is smart enough not to let him waste his career here with KD another year or through a rebuild. Any snaps he gets this season are simply to build his transfer resume.
3) Brendon Lewis - You can see it in his demeanor, he's done with this program. I would be too. He'll hit a Texas G5 and probably end up doing pretty well.
4) Shakaun Bowser and/or Zion Magalei - More of a hunch. These two continue the trend of AZ kids figuring out they don't want to be here. New staff at ASU next year and UofA on an upswing helps this along.
5) Drew Carter - Would YOU stay here if you were him at this point? It's either a switch to Safety or find a G5 to compete at.
6) Jordyn Tyson - See McCown. Texas player who's realizing he probably played with better athletes in HS. Rest of the season is an audition for other schools.

Depends if they make a change and who is hired. You get a good football coach and I think you retain most of them except some QBs buried on the depth chart. Some of those players you mention will not have FBS options in my opinion.
Yeah, I actually think firing KD in-season keeps a lot of players from transferring at least until the new HC is known and has a chance to evaluate have discussions with the players.

However, there aren't really any current players that would devastate the program by transferring. Some promising young players that I'd like to see stay, but I am all for a complete tear down and rebuild of the roster, staff and football operations.

I couldn't argue with your list. I might add a couple tightends, possibly Olsen or fauria or both. Tight ends are position that hasn't been used in the CU offense for years.

Door is wide open at this point. Most anyone could be a possibility. The Buffs are set up to be a perennially young team at this rate, with anyone showing a flash of talent hitting the road at the end of each season. The coaches could be scrambling to fill a recruiting class from the sheer number of transfers which translates into the diamond in the rough philosophy we have seen here in a previous coaching staff. And who is really going to transfer in at this point?

I do agree with a continuation of the youth movement for game snaps. Get as many guys on tape as possible so the young guys are more likely to want to stay. Plus, it's an audition and I want the new HC and staff to have game film to help them decide who they want to keep.

As a reminder, the 25 "initial counter" limit was waived this year and next. As long as CU keeps within 85 total football scholarships, that's all that matters. We could theoretically bring in 50 new guys for next year and turn this around quickly.

Ideally we’d fire Karl early enough that we can do a full search and give the new staff time to hit the transfer portal hard before the deadline

Strong argument for schools to fire coach during the season. “Hey kids. We are serious about winning. Wait to transfer please”

Only if the transfer rules at CU change

4) would be at UofA if they had committable offers. ASU new staff might be attractive, but might not be given the NCAA is bringing the hammer on the program.

It will depend on who we hire. I don't know that we have a lot of transferable talent in the up-direction.

If everyone leaves, would ot be a bad thing? Our talent is below standards. Let most leave and let the new coach build through the portal. Fresh blood throughout the program.

There are a few individual kids on the team that I would be sad to see go. That said, if 40 kids hit the portal after the season, I wouldn't be upset. CU would be forced to relax their transfer requirements just to field a team. Its about the only way that change is going to happen.
