Is it really surprising that this guy who works on TV is targeting the internet? It's clear to me that he feels personally threatened by the very existence of an alternative to his version of the sports. Here's what I say to you, Mr. Rail against the evils of internet message boards: "take it back to Russia comrade, this is the United States of FUKING America. We'll get our information on our favorite sports teams however we see damn well fit".

I blame fingers. If people didn't have fingers, then people would have to find other ways to interact with their computer keyboards. All these confounded message board users would think twice about posting slanderous remarks.

Old media sports writer Jenni Carlson wrote a story in the newspaper that set off Mike Gundy. Just saying. Maybe that guy ought to suggest people should stop reading newspapers, too. Yeah, lets suspend the first ammendment when it comes to college sports.

Trammel is a hack for the daily oklahoman - aka daily bark and fart. Not sure why he's getting tv time to editorialize.
Last year, I pointed out a couple of incorrect items in a story he wrote about Cody H being named starting qb. We exchanged comments via email for about a week, but he never printed a retraction. It was soooo sweet sending him one last email after the 27-24 Buff victory.
Of course, Trammel won't mention any of the print media's faults and misgivings. He's an arrogant little ****.

in a nutshell... fusker fan living in austin, texas, created an article, using the daily oklahoman's logo that said sam bradford and Landry Jones had been arrested for selling cocaine and posted it on CFB website, dont know which one to "smack" talk some Sooner fans. Only problem several radio, television stations and papers found it, they thought it was true too (must have been a heck of a good forgery) and went with the story as true too.
Once it was found to be a hoax, landry jones father made a couple of comments and such, and this led to barry trammel, who works for the paper the article supposedly came from to make the tv spot that is linked in this thread
Us guys could use the "hunt and pecker" system. :wow:

This area is pretty sports-crazed, and I'm not talking about just ou's rabid following, or the hoards of diehard cowpoke fans. Look at the reaction and attendance the nba Hornets had, the (fairly) new ballpark for AAA baseball, attendance at college sports from basketball to gymnastics.
It's a shame that the local rag has trammel and carlson as two of their primary sports writers.

I almost fell asleep watching this guy. Obviously, this guy has been made fun of on some message board. His argument is pathetic. It's like saying that since I live in an area, pay taxes and obey the law, I am somehow responsible for the crime that is committed in that area. This guy is bullfeathers.

I kinda like Trammel.
That was his "video blog." The Daily Oklahoman has gone a bit wacky in the past few years - with about 30% of their content being converted into "blogs" and so forth. I am sure he just threw on a jacket (probably someone else's) over his shirt and started talking to the camera. That video was never aired on television, I don't think, but rather was accessible by clicking on the link on the Daily Oklahoman's webpage.
Trammel is usually pretty good, which is saying something for Oklahoma journalists. I like him on the radio. He does a good job of stirring the pot with the couple local guys who think they are God's gift to radio.
