During my time at CU it was definitely Chido. It’s very rare that I focus solely on one player on the field during the game, but I definitely did with Awuzie. He was just such a smart and tenacious player that it was amazing watching him go to work.
This is my favorite all time Buff. Used to watch him practice when we lived in married student housing while my dad was in law school. He signed a practice ball and tossed it over the fence to me in 1971. Became a Raiders fan because of him.Cliff Branch, even though I've only seen his highlights. He was the nicest most generous sports celeb I've ever met. I will never forget my brief interaction with him.
Hahaha, similar situation happened to me, but with Brandon Drumm and she dated him before and after (and probably while we were going out.)If we’re talking “connecting with a player”, when I was a freshman, I was dating a girl in my dorm for about two weeks but stayed “floor friends” after we stopped. About a month after we stopped, Kordell Stewart started dating her (kinda interesting in retrospect) so would hang out in her room, so everyone on our floor would be hanging.*
* two years later, a girl I had been seeing ended up dating Steve Rosga.
I mean, sure, I got to share a locker room with a majority of the guys mentioned in this thread (even Cliff Branch @Alumni spring games and Rodell Guest when he briefly played football). So I ain’t picking just 1.Me. Dammit!
So many favorites have already been posted, but I haven't seen any love for Derek McCoy
My grandparents and his mom were neighbors so I grew up playing catch, basketball, and going bowling with him when I was 10.So many favorites have already been posted, but I haven't seen any love for Derek McCoy
Dude will always be a legend for taking a piss in a water bottle on the sideline while his teammates held towels around him.Lived in the same dorm as JJ Billingsley, who played (started?) as a true freshman and he'd always humor me when I'd bump into him on campus and offer up some thought on the upcoming opponent... Dude was a good player, wonder if he could have had a better career if he could have stayed healthy.
Amateur. 1989 team co-captain OT Billy Coleman would just piss his pants. More obvious on home game gold pants than roadie black pants.Dude will always be a legend for taking a piss in a water bottle on the sideline while his teammates held towels around him.
Pissing the pants works for the lineman. Not so much for the speed guys. The chaffing would be a real big problem.Armature. 1989 team co-captain OT Billy Coleman would just piss his pants. More obvious on home game gold pants than roadie black pants.
I feel like that happens in a lot of football gamesDude will always be a legend for taking a piss in a water bottle on the sideline while his teammates held towels around him.
As frustrating as Montez was, I will always appreciate that he saved the two best performances of his career for Nebraska.Steven Montez. I too ate three frozen pizzas a day in college
And Oregon. As frustrating as Montez was, I will always appreciate that he saved the two best performances of his career for Nebraska.
Yeah, those were his top 3 for sure. All three of those games are among the best wins of my Buffs fandom. I started following the team in 2005, so that list is depressingly short. And Oregon.
