As a Decathlete, Oliver is going to crush the underwear Olympics and cement himself as a 1st round pick.
I understand what you’re saying but I would t if I was him. That Washington dB had high first rd locked up last year and had a blow out at his pro day. First rd pick does more for the Program than anything. If the other guys like Phil take care of business the scouts will find them.I hope that Oliver chooses to participate in the CU pro day as well. With his status as a potential (probable) first round pick he will bring more scouts to boulder who will then also take a look at the other eligible CU players giving them a better chance to get drafted or have more options as UFAs.
Last year we had almost every team represented with scouts in Boulder. Last year we had players from the entire region come and with the Champions center the CU pro day could become almost a kind of super regional event for the scouts. Players from CU, CSU, Wyoming, and all the regional lower division schools.

Can’t believe Taz wasn’t invited to the combine. But he’ll prove them wrong
If Rex Burkhead is an NFL running back, then I have trouble believing that Phillip Lindsay is not. Very similar size and all purpose skills with great burst & change of direction. Burkhead ran a 4.73 forty, though, and I believe that Phil is a couple tenths faster than that. One thing that happened at the All Star game with PL was that while he ran really hard, like he always will, he did not look like he had a feel for making smart decisions when presented with immediate pressure. I wish he could go and play with Leveon Bell and learn a little more visual patience before he hits the jets and runs his ass off through the hole. He also looked pretty small overall compared to all the players, and the staff did not use him as a scat back, which is his one and only chance to make it to the NFL besides Special Teams. Then when he was on punt return as the returner (which I am pretty sure he has never done, but he was on kickoff returns) he looked lost. He would be a great ST player like he was his younger years at CU, but he will have to fight like crazy to make an NFL team, likely as a UFA. Never count PL out, but he has to fight again for everything he might want.
Buffs list PL at 5'8" 190 lbs. Burkhead listed as 5'10" 210 lbs. Danny Woodhead is the closer comparison and that's how Phil will have to be used.If Rex Burkhead is an NFL running back, then I have trouble believing that Phillip Lindsay is not. On height, but I don't know where else they compare. Woodhead can't block pass rushers and ran a 4.33 forty. His game doesn't remind me of Phil's at all.Buffs list PL at 5'8" 190 lbs. Burkhead listed as 5'10" 210 lbs. Danny Woodhead is the closer comparison and that's how Phil will have to be used.
They compare similarly in the overall size department with Woodhead being listed a little heavier, but neither will ever be the lead back, and both are best suited as the 3rd down or change of pace back. They both do well catching the ball out of the backfield and that is where their primary value is in the NFL. Woodhead started his career as a ST guy, too, which is where Lindsay is going to earn his spot on an NFL roster. Yes, Woodhead ran a faster 40 in shorts than PL will run and Phil might block a little better than Woodhead (although that remains to be seen at the NFL level), but from an NFL standpoint, they profile as similar role players on a team.On height, but I don't know where else they compare.
