***OFFICIAL 2019 CU FOOTBALL FALL CAMP THREAD***

Interestingly, they didn't list any WRs as a "Y". Instead, they went with "X", "Z" and "H". Might that mean our base offense is to have 1 WR on the boundary with the other 2 at or inside the hashes?
The defense will never know which side the WR screen is going to! I kid, I kid - sorta.

Interesting that Lytle or Stenstrom, Blake must have really stepped up. Already got Noyer out of the way.
Also, Tchangam getting the start. Would love to see this kid break out
JVD earning that other LB position, Love it
I think Stenstrom may be well better than many think. But I’m basing that on gut feel and the very limited number of times I’ve seen him play During his HS days.

The weird one to me is that I realized that the TE position feels like it's actually kind of deep and I'm not stressing about it this year.

Poplawski is our TE5? Stillwell is going to be able to redshirt? I can't remember going into a year in the past decade when they wouldn't both be top 3 at the position.

Have to imagine Poplawski is still working his way back to full strength. Would be shocked is him at 100% is only our 5th best TE.

It is an average group lacking a playmaking threat in the passing game. But somehow much better than previous years.

One of the things I think is notable is that our OL is a lot bigger than last year. Across the 5 starters, we've probably added at least 100 lbs versus last season.
Was going to say exactly this. It's somewhat of an arbitrary number, but there were 7 guys in the 2 deep on the OL to start the season last year under 300 lbs. This year, there are 2 and neither are starters.

I think that's fair. It's now a position that defenses have to account for, but we probably don't have anyone who requires extra attention from defensive coordinators to make sure they stop him.
...which means the position will require extra attention. :)

The backup QB role seems to be as scary as ever. Nothing coming out of camp to indicate that any of the three guys were separating from the pack and then WHAM Noyer is moved to defense and the other two are "or" on the depth chart. My reading of the situation is that none of the three are proving to be a clear choice as #2. Maybe, Stenstrom is moving up because he sat out all of spring practices and he's now co-#2 but it sure doesn't bode well for Lytle.

The chatter about a grad and/or Juco transfer next season is looking like it will almost certainly need to happen.

A TE that can produce is huge, ask NE. It makes you cover the whole field. Have to back a dude out of the box, gotcha anyway. Then, run it down their throat, play action, go up top. Of course, we don't have a Gronk type. I hope, at least, one of these guys steps up to be a threat. They do, and we can get average blocking, this team will put up numbers.

Dare I say depth on offense actually looks decent?

OL we're not 10 deep or something, but if a tackle gets injured I don't mind Filip stepping in, or even Ray. And if a guard or center gets injured, Roddick should be useful. And the guys stepping in won't be 260 pounds
WR is obviously deep
TE has bodies, idk if we have much more than average, but at least that's better than previous decade
RB seems like a lot of guys were making plays during camp. some projection here, but hopefully it's not a one man show
QB the one big question mark, if Montez goes down do we have anyone behind him?

I’m curious about how our running backs will do this season. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mangham taking most of the snaps by the end of the season. He’s a big boy.

QB: Montez is somewhat inconsistent and depth looks scary. Should be okay here.

RB: Who is the guy here? Someone needs to separate this season. Might be okay here?

WR: Talented group with several playmakers and plenty of speed. Very good overall.

TE: Average group with more size to be effective in the running game. Should be able to run more two TE sets and maybe someone emerges in the passing game. Should be okay here.

OL: I think we go a legitimate seven deep here (not sold on Ray providing depth just yet). A big, solid starting five with the best set of tackles in years. Should be good here.
