College Football News, Rumor & Humor

Saban is on record saying Alabama doesn’t just **** out blue chip players. I don’t believe him.
The last 4 signed recruiting classes for them have ranked 1,1,1,5,1 nationally, and have combined for 102 5*/4* recruits, 20 of which were 5*. He's a ****ing liar.

MM is a good fit for that Rutgers job. Illinois too.
Illinois would be a very good spot for him, I think. No idea if he’d even be considered, though. He would be able to take what he learned here and apply it to another big program that has struggled lately. Maybe take that next step from turnaround artist to legit P-5 program builder.

I sense Illinois would want to throw money at a bigger name, though.

MM would show up with a sleeping bag draped around him. Hahaha.

Illinois was good several years ago. Remember they were the one loss the 1990 National Championship team had. It’s been a while, though.

Always been the program that felt like it should be a lot better than it is. No reason for programs like Iowa to have been so much better.

I agree. Problem is they’re playing in the same sandbox as Notre Dame, Northwestern, Wisconsin and Missouri. They can’t sell academics (even though Illinois is a very solid academic school) and they can’t sell conference affiliation. They *should* be better than they are, but have a hard time getting out of the shadow of some more prestigious schools and programs.

The Athletic with more fantastic content:

“There’s a huge sense of camaraderie,” he says. “At Oregon, every mascot dating back to the early ‘80s has gotten a tattoo of duck feet. Mine’s on my ass. You don’t have to report that.”

Do college teams always get to road games the day before like NFL teams or is it ever 2 days before? Just curious as to when Oregon would get to Dallas for this.

Considering Oregon doesn’t start classes until the end of Sept, I’m sure they went out a few days before.
