Ram fans are not happy. There is not much worse then going through a firing, getting excited for new possibilities, then being super disappointed in the replacement.

They will all talk themselves into a subdued honeymoon period, but ouch

If you hire a 60 year old coach who has gone about .500 every single year over 10 seasons as a head coach, it means your expectations are to go around .500 at CSU until his tenure ends. CSU is clearly not trying to become a program that wins 9 or 10.

I hope the fans are ok with that, because it’s their best case scenario — no scandals and a lower loss AD balance sheet while hopefully duplicating Bobo’s performance level pre health issues.

A troubling sign for CSU are initial, and not yet substantiated reports, that their new president vetoed both the hiring of Butch Davis and Kevin Wilson. A successful AD has to be able to manage up.

That does not bode well for attendance. More Lady Gaga concerts will be required.

Butch Davis?

Let me say this about the search they just ran-I don't think Joe Parker has a clue. He says he wants a head coach who has integrity.......and then he goes out and flirts with Food Cart (who was involved in a title 9 lawsuit at Tennessee) and Kevin Wilson (who got **** canned at Indiana for player abuse). Addazio was mediocre at BC, and his former players are celebrating his dismissal. He's also never coached west of Notre Dame, so you've got just as many recruiting footprint issues with this hire as you had with Bobo. His rammie debut will look like a CU home game.

Mandel's off base as well in the context of this job-they've gone Power 5 coordinator twice in a row, and they couldn't afford to go that way this time. Parker has made a mess of that AD between their stadium they can't fill and the disaster that his first FB hire was and the uninspiring move his second one looks to be. Dave Aranda would have lost a million a year had he gone there. The guys we talked to last year know they don't need to go down to that level to prove themselves before getting a Power 5 look. Ryan Day hasn't lost a game and Jimmy Lake's the HC at Washington.

I'll end this post with this-that game doesn't do a ****ing thing for this AD. I for one am not ever going to another game with CSU, and I think I'm not the only one on here who thinks that way. Go beat the hell out of them next year, and then do it again in 2023-24........and then don't bother with them anymore.
Urban just got HC Dude a job to carry him to retirement. I almost feel sorry for csewe.

Just kills fan excitement, and burns another 3 years of the new stadium. Sucks for them

Why would Missouri worry about money concerns? Don’t they have dump trucks of cash coming in from the SEC?
Firings, fines and attendance problems. Boosters getting alligator arms. Maybe lawsuits. University as a whole has issues, the AD in particular. Their SEC payout is great, but the rest of their revenue situation is troubled.

I heard Butch Cassidy was also vetoed.
If you're looking for more Butch references, this one more accurately reflects how Ramfan feels right now.

One is a great coach who should have stayed at Miami, kept a step ahead of the NCAA, and retired a legend with a bunch of national championships. The other tried to sell Tennessee fans on accepting moral victories. 😉
FIU is on an upward trajectory.

Some Rammie fan on their board:
I didn't even think it was possible to hire a coach and check literally no boxes. You'd think you would stumble into at least one positive even by mistake.

Established record of success ... no, 57-55 lifetime record.
Capable of spike (9+ win) seasons ... no, capped out at 7-6
Wins in conference ... no, never exceeded 4-4
Great bowl record ... not really, 2-3 lifetime
Young and upcoming ... nope, 60 years old
Considered an innovator ... not at all
Known for wild, entertaining offenses ... apparently the 180 degree opposite of that
Known for smothering, dominating defenses ... he's not a defensive coach
Built up prior program from nothing ... no indication of that
Consistent upward trajectory ... no, his team flatlined after one season
Connection to our program (alum) ... none whatsoever
Has extensive recruiting connections in the region ... has none, as far as it looks
At least understands the local football culture ... apparently has never coached a game east of the Mississippi
Fan favorite ... not even remotely
Beloved character guy ... I don't know, but BC fans seemed happy to see him go
A players coach ... doesn't really seem like it
Comes dirt cheap ... $1.5 million base, so not really
Brings talented assistants along ... I'm not hearing that
Splash hire who elevates recognition of the program nationally ... ha ha ha, seriously?

Oof.

When all else fails, blame the millennials!

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

everything you want in life, but that is just not the way it works. I do not know what to think about this hire, however, we need to give this guy a fair chance. What has the current style of football we play gotten us? NOTHING! Look at the Texas A&M situation. Paid high price for a coach that supposedly has gotten top notch football classes and what have they achieved? NOTHING! Maybe we need to get back to basics with a hard nose coach and hard nose players that play solid foundation football and knock the hell out of the other team. The fact is none of the so-called experts on this board have a clue what will or will not happen. Only time will tell and then the results can be judged.

Interesting footnote: Butch Jones goes from spurning CU in 2012 to being passed over for the CSU job. LMFAO.

He'll be in that analyst role until he wants to retire. What a ****ing clown.

We all have our opinions. I’d also say that the ASU job you brought up is a top 4 job in the Pac-12.
The stripper reference or the ASU program? Assuming the latter, I'd put it around 4-5. But 35 years later. If Vegas never diversifies it's job base, I don't see it getting to where PHX got. Hospitality industry just doesn't pay the wages. Growth can't be sustained thru gaming alone, and retirees won't spend on seats.
