Karl Dorrell officially named Colorado HC

Tony Elliott makes $1.6 at Clemson. Even giving him Mel's contract gives him a substantial raise. Downside=never coached outside of the state of South Carolina.

You are right. I never knew a coach that didnt have people always looking for the bigger better job.

1) Do you know any coaches?

2) I also never knew a person who makes up wild conspiracies that didn't **** bunnies.

See? You can make up all sorts of **** if you don't care about anything but your preferred theory.

So they were already looking. Listen IDK its already done, just saying I dont think this was a surprise. I think we were played for a while. Its over, we move on, just dont believe this was done in 3 days.

Who said it was done in three days? Only you keep bringing it up.

Tucker was clearly on their radar, but you are implying he was on their radar for weeks and that Kap knew about it too. Straight crazy.

Who knows if Tucker was in contact with them prior to last Friday, but I think it's fair to say that everybody is being played by somebody. Someday Michigan State will be played with too.

Rumors came out on Saturday? Was gone midnight Monday? Are we questioning hours?

They drug their feet until mid-late January before apparently deciding they were intent on going a different direction. At most, they were ready to move on a week (maybe two) before Dantonio pulled the plug. Of course Tucker was on their list, but he was also a clear second. So there was probably interest sometime earlier in the week, but not at all with the timeline you suggested that Kap was turning down jobs weeks ago because he knew Tucker as the second choice would get the job. Your theory makes no sense.

Think the 9ers DC seemed to be on their list before Tucker, too.

There's an article on Mlive.com that said Tucker interviewed on Friday and knocked their socks off with how much homework he had done. So clearly there had been some contact. That said it was not before Danotonio left and has no bearing on Kap.

Kap likes Mel, followed him here. Kap turned down better jobs than CU. Why? I guess we will see if he follows Mel to MSU. Hope I am wrong and he stays.

I have friends that are coaches. Typically some kind of notice comes out way before it hits the media. Always back door negotiations going on.

I hate to be an Allbuff, but you got proof? He wanted to be here before MT?
"The funny thing was when this job opened, this was before I knew who was getting it or anything," he said. "I remember telling my wife that this would be the best opportunity because this is obviously a beautiful place to live for my family, brand new facilities, [and] the Pac-12 is open at this point — you don’t have this hierarchy like there used to be. It all came together."

The 5-7 coach with only one year of head coaching experience wasn’t their first choice.

Pat Narduzzi and Luke Fickell turned them down. Fickell was expected to take the job and met with them on campus before turning it down on Monday because he didn’t like the feel of it or whatever.

That wasn’t predictable and not something that could have been anticipated. Fickell wouldn’t have had such serious talks with them if people at other schools already knew he was going to turn them down.

It's also quite possible that Pat Shurmur turned them down as well. So any way you look at it t****er was their 2 or 3rd choice and to save face they made an offer that couldn't be ignored. I'm not sure anybody actually thinks that he's worth that kind of money based on what we know so far. It's possible that it could work out for MSU, but it's a gamble.
