2020 CU football season POSTPONED until Nov 6th?

Who’s the weirdo hiding in a tree taking pictures? Boulder, gonna boulder

I hate to say, this is too emblematic of Boulder these days. A bunch of kids going on a hike together got a lot of attention from their (very) rich neighbors/observers, and someone felt compelled to sound the alarm. The point is that this wouldn’t have been reported on in any major college football town, but it was in Boulder. That’s part of our problem

It would have been reported in any P5 town

Unfortunately it would have drawn attention and probably have been reported anywhere.

It was a large group of large young men, many of them Black.

In some college towns the rich old white people would think it was an antifa invasion, in a Boulder the rich old white liberals where afraid that they might move in to the neighborhood or play their music.

No way something like this gets reported in most P5 college towns. Hell, probably wouldn’t be reported in most G5 towns.
I agree that this is a total non issue and it’s only bad optics because some holier than thou mask Karen decided it was his/her duty to report it.

Nope.

Yeah I was thinking about that last night too. If I was Larry Scott I wouldn’t even put a definite number on the amount of games that we will play. I would say we are starting this week and we will evaluate the situation as we go. Hell put out an 11 game round robin schedule and it the situation unfolds that you can play all of them then go ahead. If they have to stop at 8 because everything goes as planned in the other leagues and the CFP becomes a priority, then so be it. I wouldn’t worry about bowl games what so ever since there are no fans and the losses will be large due to no tickets being sold.
If you were Larry Scott half this board would invite you to the Casa Bonita parking lot and the other half would show up to watch.

Yes. Long time Boulder resident.

Whether you agree with rules or not, you have to know them. Uninformed, silly decision.
I agree that it was a silly decision, but the reporting and response by the city is important here. That is a small power wielding neighborhood (everyone knows each other) with long history of fabricating complaints to the city in order to keep people “out”, VERY rich, very vocal. It’s residents include the the esteemed Cindy Carlisle, Steve Pomerance and several others. So while the FB team broke a rule here, don’t take the complaint at face value, and I stand by my previous comment that the overall response/reporting by the media was atypical relative to other college towns.

I just can’t imagine taking time out of my day to take pictures of them and then to call the police and send those pictures to them. Get a life.

All good Bill.

I think playing mwc teams would be a bad idea based on all the issues the G5 teams are having with covid outbreaks, clearly they don’t have the resources to keep things safe. CUSA is getting hammered with cancellations so far.
