Lucky win by Tucker today, now he will go 1-8 or whatever!
America is defined by short cuts and ****ty personalities winning
Let's reward character instead of bluster

Nothing lucky about the win today by Mich St. I guess you can’t accept that Tucker felt misled by RG’s overpromises, and he was looking to leave at the first good opportunity. Tucker leaving CU was not a reflection on his character, instead it was a reflection on the untruthfulness of CU‘s Athletic Director.

What were the promises?

You are full of **** and have no idea what you are talking about.

Have you looked at the thread title? Feel free to start an “I heart Mel” thread.

Might be half the story from half of the parties involved!!!
Maybe RG did not realize that Tucker was going to cut corners and pull SEC shenanigans!!!
What Tucker did was not representative of the character I want at CU
I would like to know all these promises also?

What were the promises?

Lack of access to financial resources that were promised (mainly $ for assistant coaches and recruiting budget), and more of a willingness to accept marginal academic recruits. A big problem was when Rezjohn Wright and Alton Julian, two juco DB’s who Tucker really wanted, were denied admission after sitting at the Omni Interlocken for the better part of a week. Tucker‘s was given assurances they would both be admitted, but no. Both later were admitted to Oregon State.

So, RG was not able to help MT turn CU into Nebraska academically, you call that broken promises. Where is Prop 48 when you need it, huh!!! Tucker and CU were just not a fit. He is win at all cost, and that is not what I want anyway. Interesting how many kids that Tucker coached, like DeAndre Baker are lacking in decision making. I like Tucker's energy and drive, but he will likely run up against some violations somewhere along the line.

Keep blaming Tucker because it makes you feel better. He was told both would be admitted, and they were not. There were numerous other undelivered promises around $$$. He came to believe he could not win here and left.

You should be thrilled with Dorrell - he won’t win or recruit well, so there will be no need for you to question his integrity.

Anyone in charge of anything, let alone an operation as large at CU football, must be prepared to pivot when unforeseen challenges arise. It’s impossible to expect everything to go your way, especially in light of KNOWN rebuilding he knew of when he took the damn job.

It says more about Mel to leave in the night because he couldn’t get 2 marginal juco recruits and maybe he needed more money for assistants, than it does about CU’s shortcomings.

How about beat a service academy at home?! He could control that. He’s a POS. Full stop.

This is the Mel Tucker hate thread. The "I want to give Mel a handy" thread is in the Island, bubba.

Then why are you mad that he left?

I’d still rather have Tucker than our alternative: Replacing him by overpaying for a complete nobody
Smh. One has never coached a team to a bowl game, the other 5. One has a losing record, the other is over .500.

KD may be a downgrade, and he wouldn't be near the top of any list for me, but calling him a complete nobody shows your knowledge of college football doesn't go beyond your join date.

Well that's just bending the idea to your liking. You're talking about KD's achievements from 15 years ago. As in, when recruits for this year were 3 years old. If we compared HCKD to MT in 2005, sure KD would be more well known. In today's college football he's a complete nobody in comparison to MT. Yes, he went 5-7 his first year as a head coach but he was also universally praised amongst coaches and reporters alike when he was brought to CU. Very unlike when HCKD was here and some reporters said "who?"

I'm willing to give Karl Dorrell a shot. I think he's a damn good man (can't say that for the POS whose name is in the thread title) and he's capable of getting this team over the 5 win hump of the last three years.

Well I'm 35 ;) and if join date is your qualifying barometer, then half the people on allbuffs are elementary and middle schoolers. And sure, KD does exist. He is a human but metaphorically in modern college football he is a nobody.

Then why are you mad that he left?

Um. Cause he lied like a b**** to everyone, leaving the program in the middle of the night, at the worst possible time, in the midst of preaching integrity for everyone but him.

We have our reasons and our thread here.
