over the last 5 - 10 years as I've aged, I've felt increasingly childish and ridiculous whenever I find myself using a team's nickname instead of their real name*. Admittedly, sometimes it seems awkward to say "CU" instead of "the Buffs", but I'd rather feel awkward than ridiculous (the former being something I've grown accustomed to in nearly every aspect of life).MSU sucks

if this becomes a trend (and I have little doubt that it will), I will no longer feel awkward avoiding nicknames.
*I do somewhat using 'hokiehead' for a screen name on multiple forums, but I'm too entrenched there to change.
