I believe his comment was about not leaning too heavily on Jucos. Not sure he'd be against a proven grad transfer.
Fair enough but in all honesty, they should look at and evaluate a ton of these transfers to find talent increases. We are not so stocked that we should be stepping out of the college free agency season. We already fell behind during recruiting season with the class we brought in. If the Alamo Bowl showed anything it was this staff better get serious about finding talent. Really not acceptable to not look hard here when you are where the Buffs are talent wise
Good for the Buffs. Bad for Trojans.
It will be interesting to watch different teams and their strategies with the portal now that free agency is here and it's only going to get more active.
Go big or avoid?
DII and G5 standouts wanting to move up vs. big time recruits that didn't find the field at big programs?
I tend to think that the teams that lean into it will have success. Herm - who is probably the best organizational coach in conference - and Whittingham - who consistently outplays his recruiting rankings leaning heavy into it only makes me think that more. Oregon's basketball team just started 5 players who all began college somewhere else.
Another thought that probably doesn't help Dorrell in the transfer market. A coaching staff with huge relationships across the country could definitely help you understand why different players (that haven't seen playing time) are transferring and if they are worth taking a risk on from previous coaching staffs.

Who will be the program that becomes the "destination" for transfers to the point of building their success on it.
Could see a program and coach getting the reputation as the place to go as a transfer if you want to have success individually, win games, and get a shot at the pros. All of this similar to what Snyder established at K-State with JUCO players before those transfer rules got significantly tightened. The school pretty much let him bring in anyone who met the basic NCAA standards academically (which were low) with the understanding that he would win games and put them on the map.
I was totally thinking about the Kstate angle in all this! Also, maybe KD’s cool and calm demeanor will attract kids that would prefer a different approach, especially Cali kids that headed East like a lot of these kids seem to be.

Probably would have happened anyway, but I have to wonder if he might have thought about coming back if the Jets had that first pick. Jax has some tools for him.
And a lot of salary cap space to sign some players. Couldn't have worked out better.
Most NFL people believe the Jets have a superior roster than the Jags, at least that’s what I’ve read. I guess coaching is TBD, so that’s some upside for the Jags I guess.
Lawrence will keep an extra few million in tax savings in Florida, though.

Nope.
if they run the table (incl Indiana and Notre Dame), I think their odds are better than 50%.
There are some big time OOC matchups in the first 4-5 weeks next season that will shape the picture early. Best non-conference slate in years across the board IMO.
