“Why doesn’t Tad coach offense better” say the people who don’t watch any college basketball.

I don't have the deepest technical knowledge of basketball, but (1) I watched the video and understand the play he's breaking down (2) I've been one to question "why don't we see more set plays from Boyle", (which is not intended to be equivalent to asking 'why doesn't he coach better', but seems to be in the realm of people your comment is getting at). Understand that the player shooting a long three probably wasn't intended by the Creighton coach, but the play did result in getting a ball to guy open for a shot that was clearly in his range, so hard to call it a broken play.

Anyway, realize I'm slow on this, but could you connect the dots between the video and your comment about people who don't watch basketball?

Mark Titus is being a complete smart ass in the video.

Simple answer, the only people that shot is “in his range” for are Steph Curry, Dame Lillard, and maybe a couple other NBA superstars. That was a disaster of an offensive possession in spite of the end result.

Great fûcking day of hoops for me: CU, VT and Wisconsin all in action yesterday -- all three won (and none spoiled before I watched!!!).

By contrast to MSU's embarrsssment. Stanford beats Az in Az last night w/o Davis, Williams and Willis. I'm not sure when those guys return but they'll be even more formidable then.

I came. Figuratively, but not embarrassed to admit.

Yes, I'm on the Telluride weekend with the wife and posting about orgasms in the other games thread.

0.5 games out of first in the ACC. I'm really excited.

Can't believe I got away with watching the game this weekend, TBH. we had the hotel hot tub reserved from 8-9 tonight, but i accidenally got her drunk at dinner and she wanted to cancel the tub.

Are Tech fans not happy? Seriously, that's about as great of a hire as they could get. That's an awesome one.

My neighborhood has many Tech alums. The ones who follow bball said they like the hire during today’s AM dog walk.

Mike Young is a very, very good basketball coach-and I thought he was probably going to Tennessee when I saw the stuff about Barnes and UCLA until you guys snapped him up. If I'm the Vols, I'm calling Jamie Dixon if Barnes heads west.
You guys knew something that i didn't.

Interesting article about former Big East basketball powers. They could throw UConn in there too. Funny how the football moves screwed the most visible programs in most of these schools.

Honestly, I don't think it helped the ACC to take in Syracuse, Notre Dame, Pitt, Boston College, VA Tech and Miami in hoops. All I see from that is programs like GA Tech, Wake & NC State struggling to be as successful as they used to be.

Man, I've been trying to think back to the last season I've seen so many ranked teams getting clipped. I can't remember one. I don't think there is one dominant team, even Gonzaga. I saw them struggle in their last game. There isn't a UNLV type team of the past, anybody can get got.

See I feel like it's Gonzaga, Baylor and the rest. They've both been motivated since last years tourney got cancelled and I thought they were the best two teams last year as well. Neither have losses and have beat a bunch of high ranked teams pretty handily. A close win happens even for dominant teams. Heck they each are probably going to lose one going into the tourney. Even that Kentucky team that was stacked years ago had a loss in the regular season. You are right though from 3 in the rankings on there is a lot of parity, which hopefully bodes well for the buffs come tourney time.

iirc, that UNLV lineup started 4 first rounders and a second rounder. I miss those days when everyone stayed at least 2-3 years and we'd get those super teams in college. Maybe the best part is we got to know their players even if we didn't follow the team.

This Iowa / Ohio State game is really good.

Utah up 12 on Arizona, about 6 minutes left to close them out.

I want to say LJ, Anthony, Augmon, and I'm not sure on the other. Maybe, Anderson Hunt? I met Larry Johnson before he went to UNLV because he played at Odessa College for two years. I was only like 6 or 7at the time, he didn't have to make time for us, but he did. He was real cool, talked to us for about 20 minutes or so. Being that young, we looked at him like he was a God. :D

For some reason I had thought their center (David Butler) got drafted in Rd1. Looked him up - he went undrafted. Pretty sure Hunt was Rd2.

Well, George Ackles got drafted 29th that year. He never played in the NBA, bounced around over seas for awhile. Guess that was the other, if there were that many teams then, which idk?

Interesting day so far. Watching Texas here in double Oates. Big Q1 win for Seton Hall at UCONN. St John’s are starting to buy into the Mike Anderson system with a win at Providence. They do a lot of things well. I won my parlay with NCS mauling Boston College. Any opinions about Duke and UNC tonight? Not going to be a fun game to watch, that’s for sure. I just think Duke are so bad. The line snapped me back.

I think we want UCLA tonight. 2-seed is as good as a 1. And even if I'm wrong, it's not like I could root for an Enfield team anyway. Go Bruins!

doh!

UCLA without their frontcourt. This could be a messy title finish.

Man, those losses to Utah and UW are so frustrating for what could have been. 10-2 and First in PAC-12 sounds pretty ****ing nice.

Whatever, that’s ok. At least we aren’t trash like Duke 7-7 overall, 9th in conference. Or Kentucky 5-12 overall, 10th in conference. Or Michigan State 9-7 overall, 12th in conference. Or Kansas 12-7 overall, 6th in conference.

This has been a strange season, idk what the **** it is? When is the last time Kentucky, Duke, Michigan State, Kansas, were crap? Even North Carolina isn't very good, they're ok. All of them have talent too, it's weird.
