Guy from Cal went to the line down 2 with no time left on the clock - missed the first shot.

Iowa is destroying Michigan State.

I know I'm seeing them at their best, but even discounting that, Iowa looks like the worst possible tourney matchup for our Buffs: tons of size/rebounding, 3 point shooters all over the place, and a guy in Garza who can carry their offense when nothing's working.

Impressive team.

I saw part of the Iowa / northwestern game. The 'eyes struggled in the 1st half and early 2nd before pulling away. I think the cats just didn't have the depth and bench to pull it off.

But that makes me wary of Iowa in a tourney setting where they might meet a team that can sustain.

I won't be picking Iowa to win it. I'm saying I don't want to see them in CU's bracket. Bad matchup for us.

Yeah, I got that and I don't disagree. I just can't figure out what the issue was/is with lesser teams. They showed well against zaga but bumbled versus northwestern?

Maybe just an off half? Maybe overrated? I dunno.

Counterpoint: We just have to stop them 10% of the time. Because with Iowa’s D, we’re scoring every time down the court.

My dad and brother are huge Iowa fans, and watch every game. Garza is a great player, but Iowa goes as their 3 point shooters go. They have lost games in the Big Ten when their shooters have gone cold.

I don't like their size. Rebounding & our ability to finish in the paint. I'll very happily take a shooting team if they're one dimensional.

Michigan State, Kentucky, Duke all going to be watching the tourney from home this year. Wild.

I feel like we do worse against teams that muck up the game with some talent Arizona’s, Utah’s, Tennessee etc not hyper efficient offensive teams. I’d be a lot more nervous to face a Virginia, Rutgers type team.

The ACC is a Covid mess. Tech hasn't played a game in over a week.

CU just needs to get in the tourney, worry about who you play when you make it. They dick around too much, it's not a definite.

Two quality mid majors..#22 Loyola Chicago vs Drake, previously ranked. So Loyola beat Drake by 27 yesterday, then lost to them by 1 in OT today. Weird back to back games but also the unusual turnaround in score differentials. A lot of variables..off shooting night vs hot shooting, lack of focus, effort, momentum, psychology etc. Probably applies to our game vs Cal but still frustrating.

Not in any way excusing CU for flat performances, but this season is all about internal motivation. Without the crowd energy, it's tough to get the adrenaline going the same way as a player. Seeing that wide swings in performance is a common theme of this college basketball season -- along with older, more mature teams generally doing well while more-talented but young teams have often struggled to find their way.

Iowa's Luke Garza became the highest scorer in men's basketball yesterday. Poor guy had to make two free throws to get the record. He swished the first and air balled the 2nd way short. He was nervous about that record and it showed in the 1st half.

Once he hit a basket and had the record, he played like himself.

Who to root against...USC or Oregon? I'm thinking I'd rather have USC win since they then won't have lost 2 games in a row and then our win against them would look better than if they lose to Oregon.

VT vs GT tonight. Assuming something doesn't go wrong, it will be VT's first game in 17 days.

Tyrece Radford is expected to play, having returned from his suspension for a DUI.

there's a swarm of Yellow Jackets, pounding 'gainst my window pane...

This West Virginia v Baylor game is by far the best game I've seen all year. Just high level shot after high level shot. Both teams going after it. Holy cow. Both teams have amazing guard play.

Watching Wisconsin and Purdue, and I just do t see it with either. Looked ot up and Wisconsin could be in for a big drop next year. Losing 6 seniors, 5 of which are their top 5 producers.
