So 12 is inevitable. But then what?
I predict we ride that for about a decade, and then they expand to 24 with 8 teams getting a 1st round buy.

I think all TV ratings from 2020-2021 seasons should be ignored. Every league/sport was down.

Ummm, have they invented ways to put more than 24 hours in a day?
I'm actually serious. On a three day holiday weekend, you have about 35 hours of time in which you can broadcast a game and expect all but a few die hards to tune in.
A game broadcast lasts about 3.5 hours. Keep in mind that the No Fun League also has games that will be broadcast.
So now, please tell me how you expect a bowl game with, at best, teams ranked in the teens, to not get scheduled against either a college playoff game or an NFL playoff (or regular season game with playoff implications) game? And once they're scheduled against that, do you really think they'll get a lot of people to tune in?
If they're not a substantial part of the college playoff system, you *will* kill the bowls <full stop>.
People are growing tired of seeing the same teams playing in the playoff every year. It’s like watching the Patriots in yet another Super Bowl. There’s very little excitement in seeing Nick Saban win another MNC. Start mixing it up a little and the viewers will be back.

You know the Rose Bowl was played in Texas this year right? The precedent is already set to have the NY6 games played wherever. The communities and businesses that won't get tourism revenue may not like it, but the TV and sponsor revenue will still pour in like normal.

Here’s my point. Why does college football need to bend over backwards for the Rose Bowl or any other bowl? I LOVE bowl season. I love watching the Rose Bowl. I don’t want them to go away at all. But the NCAA doesn’t need to do everything to please the bowl system.

The pandering to these bowl games is ridiculous and is only a thing anymore because the decision makers in college football typically have a financial stake in some of the individual bowl games.
They also talk about your question about preference of being 4 seed with a bye or 5 seed with a home game.

I read my news unfortunately - don't have time or inclination to listen. People talk too slow and I can't skip by stupidity.
Millions more people sitting home with nothing to do? Ok.
Those points adds to the problem, no subtract from it.
what did they charge Sacky for the last parking pass? $1500 for 6 home games. Wow.

Not sure what your point is. But all ratings were down for all leagues.
Not sure using this instance caused by a global pandemic in an attempt to try and establish some sort of normalcy is necessary setting a precedence.
It won’t happen because the decision makers in CFB have too much personal financial stake in the Bowl games happening in their current form, but they could easily make the change. Feldman also talked about this on his podcast yesterday saying the Bowls don’t have the power they used to and it’s kind of a corrupt situation with the people who are keeping them going for personal financial gain

This stupid ****ing bowl conversation between three of us has gotten lost in the weeds.
As a college football fan, all I want is as many playoff games on campus as possible. Nobody can deny the atmosphere and games would be WAY better on campus than a ****ty NFL stadium. Throw the bowls to all the teams who aren’t in the top 12. If that diminishes the “prestige” of the big bowls so be it.

Plenty of them are, but calling the Rose Bowl a glorified spring game might be the most offensive post I see all month.
