Thats one yard for every point Michigan scored today!
The moment Stanley fumbled I stormed out of the stadium. I was pissed off and the sun was sweltering. CU AD needs to give refunds to all season ticket holders for that **** of a game.
No he doesnt. He needs to be fired. Remove the tumor entirely.
I’m thinking about it. And it isn’t just CU. College football is losing its appeal.

Against a one-dimensional offense like this one-its not shocking. Lewis should not be playing right now. The only reason he is is because Shrout got here. He's lost-and my concern is continuing to run him out there 100% of the time is only going to make things worse.

Not worth the locker room drama. The psyche of this team is fragile enough. Change the play caller and tell him to look for another job at the end of the season.
I dont care. He's a bad coordinator and a worse coach... the one thing he did was recruit... he hasnt done that in 3 years... He Can Get the **** out
That presumes that the players like or respect Chev. On triple hearsay… I’d say that’s not a given.
Just my own personal view, though, I have wondered for some time, having watched interviews with him, he does not come across as someone who is …. well… charismatic (to put it kindly). I’ve really wondered how he is considered a good recruiter. I was sincerely worried he would get the HC job. I think there would have been a very adverse reaction in the locker room.
I think HCKD got stuck with him, a bit, with the unfortunately timed hiring. HCKD needed to make sure to hold on to recruits and players. Chev seemed like an important part of that, which I think may well have been a mistaken perception. It’s now biting us in the ass.
Just wild speculation on a horrible night.
Wtf is he doing back there then, if he can't field punts? I've done it, that **** isn't for everybody. He dropped two, what else do you need to see? That is not an easy job man, it just isn't. Don't tell me they didn't see that bull**** in practice. Everybody practices specials.

Maybe. I do think last year (especially missing USC and ASU because of their COVID issues) masked some of what we're seeing now-even though it likely showed KD he needed to do something new at DC. Really easy to play lip service to this when you lose 10-7 to a top 10 team (which I think A&M is) like Dorrell did after last week. After you get your ass kicked at home by a middling Big 10 team (Minnesota probably is 7-5 or so-but I don't think they're going to contend with some of the powers in that conference), there's no other choice but start making moves.

First off, I want to say that as a gopher fan, Boulder has been kind to our group. Flew in on Wednesday, and leaving tomorrow and loved every bit of your fine city. Great people and many a great drink.
Id like to comment quick on the game and also the overall perception of Minnesota. In my probably biased opinion, based off a very good oline and some talented people at running back, qb, and WR this is not a 6 win team. If you look at their schedule along with their attributes it’s an 9, maybe 10 win team.
Regarding the game, it’s apparent to this former defensive coordinators eyes (at the D2 level), the Buffaloes are easy to guard right now. They have decent speed on the outside, but are not very imaginative with lack of crossers or even screens which would help Lewis get kn a groove. I was shocked with the lack of the use of the RB’s….Minnesota gets shredded when either the QB is mobile or the RB can catch. It’s happened for going on 10 years now. Colorado didn’t do any of that, which allowed Minnesota to rush 3 or 4….and get home. That’s a problem. The other thing Colorado could have done but didn’t is speed around the edges….another issue Minnesota has. They failed to do that as well. Leaving me to ask, what exactly is the identity of Colorado? Run? Pass? Seems like nobody knows.
One thing that has been failed to be mentioned is when CU played the Aggies, per a couple folks I trust they took out nearly 70% of the offense when the starting an went down. That’s a lot. And that’s why I was not completely drinking the Colorado defensive kool aide.
Back to the game, I figured watching the game it was only a matter of time for the Buffaloes to tire on D. Chunks started to happen and the rest is history.
I wish success to the Buffaloes for the rest of the year and thanks again for amazing hospitality.

He hasn’t exactly been lighting the world on fire either. Clemson has been riding the struggle bus on offense.
I can say that you are way over qualified for diagnosing the Buff's offensive offense. My 6th grade B team offense was more varied and creative than what is being put on the field now, and half the kids we had never played tackle football before then and some never played flag football. Actually come to think of it, my flag football playbook was more complicated too. Makes me sad just thinking about it. Maybe I should send my playbook to HCKD and see if I can call plays.
Haha! Nah. But because the balance of power has shifted so far that I don’t see CU competing in the rest of my lifetime.

I think the sun may have played a role. He has been very good up to yesterday. He has great instincts.

The question is how much patience should be shown?
How much patience do you show after a sixty some odd yard performance? Against a decent team, but not one of the top defenses in the country?
How much patience can you afford to show when it is not a first year staff?
How much patience can you show based on the most recent recruiting cycles?
How much patience can you show if you really care about the football program?
I am about at the same point. This program is in bad shape and the future looks worse.

I hate hypotheticals but if CU clones the Minn OL and plays that game again, I think the buffs win that game. Said another way, the problem with this team is, and has been for a long time, the OL. It is epically bad. It’s corrosive to other aspects of the teams efficiency, versatility, confidence. It’s a tumbling snowball and we’re seeing the result.

And the worst part about this is that the state of Colorado consistently produces highly rated OL recruits but the Buffs can never land any of them.. I want coaches whose focus is on recruiting recruiting recruiting. The wins will come as soon as the talent does.

Lewis was nervous to start the game and muffed the snap. His coaches should have seen this pregame and made some adjustments. The coaches thought they could 'fool' MN by not using our strength - the running game, and instead passed 1st down on the 1st 3 series. We should have been running and let Lewis do some simple handoffs.
If the team had an identity after the first 2 games, it was stout defense and a grinding running game. Every player knew that. The horrible play calls on those initial series cost the team dearly, in terms of their own confidence, and thier confidence in the coaches. It also left the D on the field too long. I feel that the team lost confidence last week, when KD wouldn't go for it on 4th at the end of the 1st half. Our insistence on early passing yesterday, just made it much worse.
There also seemed to be minimal effort by the coaches to talk the players up, rally them, get them fighting, as the game progressed

If that's true, he needs to be working on it a lot to get around that.
What I saw in BL for the past 3 game was a QB given a plan almost impossible to execute. As a result, his confidence got progressively shaken and thus followed his performance - double clutching every pass, running to the sidelines and passing to no one. He's a talented guy and deserves better. Carter looked like someone whose confidence hasn't been broken yet, picking up some yards in garbage time against a defense that eased up. Make Carter a starter in this system and he will also get broken. KD needs to take charge of this situation and be on the side of the players - throw Chiv under the bus and start over. I think the players would respond (look at USC after Helton was canned). Continuing this toxic situation is the worst possible option. We will lose our players to Fresno State and BYU in that case, who will shape them into world beaters.

I’ve been hearing that the Buffs want to establish the run and have that be their identity for at least two coaching staffs. Broussard won OPOY in the PAC last year…this game the Buffs came out throwing, and Fontenot starts?! There were 4 RB’s with decent yardage and a TD to their name against UNC…run it!

Montez was polarizing…but when he was on, the kid was good…ie before the cheap shot against USC in 2019 vs after the cheap shot against USC in 2019.
Who did the Buffs lose on OL from last year…Sherman? Did one person really make that much of a difference?
all of these stud grad transfers that came in over the summer are riding the bench…
Is the 2019 recruit class not as good as promised? Other than Christian Gonzalez, who else is contributing? Can’t seem to feed B.Rice anything to get him going…Clayton has showed flashes, but nothing too consistent, yet. How much longer before these offensive weapons transfer out - Clayton, Rice, Shenault? I’m sure ASU would love to have Rice…
I’m just confused on what happened over the winter, spring, and summer.
Can the coaches sit with Tad to see how he is doing well…maybe the Women’s VB coach, too?

No. But (and I know this is going to go over like having someone **** in your mouth), but I’m in Austin right now on a college tour for my daughter. We went to game last night v Rice - there were about 95,000 people there, it was rocking, and crazy fun. The whole town was buzzing with burnt Orange even after that **** show they threw v Arkansas. Point being, I was 1/2 jealous and 1/2 excited for another team to root for (wherever she gets in - UT, UGA, Wisc, Penn State) that plays competent football with rabid fans.
