College Football News, Rumor & Humor

Explain how that works when Vegas is setting the lines and totals? I’m solely basing the score prediction on those numbers
The spread is based upon power rankings, adjusted output, and adjusted allowed points. Opening spreads at places like Circa are designed to test the market in order to get a feel for the market. Other shops analyze those line moves to create their own markets.

Totals are based upon combined adjusted output and combined adjusted allowed points. In a lopsided game like this one, the opening totals will leave room for the favorite to score (nearly) all of the points, most of the points, AND the underdog scoring a (nearly) equivalent number of points.

Is this where we talk about weird college football stuff?

Because I have three things:

1) Extremely funny to me that KSU is undefeated and blew out an SEC team while starting Adrian Martinez at QB

2) At least CU isn't Iowa. Iowa is on pace for some all-time offensive futility:
  • On pace for ~1,900 offensive yards. No FBS team this millennium has gained less than 2,500 yards this outside of 2000 Baylor.
  • Averages 2.79 yards per play. No FBS team this millennium has averaged fewer than 3.4 yards per play outside of 2002 Rutgers.
  • Is passing for 3.86 yards per pass
  • Is on pace to score the fewest points of any FBS team this millennium, including teams that only played 11 games. (credit to Shutdown Fullcast for all of those)
3) it is outrageous- OUTRAGEOUS - to me that A&M is ranked after losing to a winless sunbelt team at home. Why the **** would that be the case? Keep in mind that A&M lost 4 games last year, so it's not like they are the defending champs or anything.

Worse than aTm, Notre Dame is still receiving votes.

And they still would have beaten Nebraska with Frost as head coach, will probably do so without him.

Iowa will still win more games than CU. Also, ****ing aTM

I’m pretty sure this was posted on here somewhere (the Agg yell leader speech)…

But this response as hysterical (skit at 2:27ish)

It's always amazed me that a school like UCLA doesn't have an on-campus stadium

I'd like to go to the Rose Bowl for the Rose bowl game but other than that it would be a terrible place to go for a game.

Yes the weather can be great but the sightlines and the distance the seats are from the field make it a bad place to see a game. If you are low enough to be relatively close your angle is bad, if you are high enough to see what is going on you are a mile away.

Never been there but have read that it's very hard getting into and out of the area plus the stadium itself is just old and outdated. Having said that the Rose Bowl game remains a bucket list item for me. It also sucks for UCLA and their fans that the Rose Bowl is something like 45 minutes from campus, similar to what Miami deals with. At least the Orange Bowl was relatively close to campus until they inexplicably decided to tear it down. But at least there's talk of Miami building their own stadium near campus.

Have also been told that the area around the stadium is not where you want to be spending a lot of time.

I was there for CU/UCLA in 2002. Enjoyed it very much.

I went to the CU vs. Miami game in 2003 or maybe 2004. The Orange Bowl was a **** hole. The surrounding neighborhoods weren't much better.

Really? I thought the Rose Bowl was in a real nice area. Now the Coliseum, I've heard alot of not so good things about that area
What I have heard isn't the same things as the Coliseum which is relates to danger and crime. More that the traffic is bad, access is confusing, and despite it being a relatively nice area of the city they didn't find it a good place to hang out before or after a game in terms of drinking and dining options, etc. They are there but they weren't impressed, it just didn't have the same vibe as you would get in a town or city where the college is a big part of what is going on.
