I'm very impressed with what he has done at Kent State. His offense is legit and would translate well at CU.

Have to wonder what kind of staff he can assemble and where his recruiting is at. Most of his experience is in the mid-west and east coast. Not sure if he is ready for a P5 jump but would like to see an interview here. Plus, his beard game is spot on!

With his record, you need to focus on conference play instead of overall. The scheduling has been brutal.

Also, program was a dumpster fire when he arrived.

Offense consistently ranks among the best in the country. OC and other staff members have deep Texas ties for recruiting. The extension of that is they're linked to the Dino Babers tree.

I think Lewis would do well at CU and his teams would be fun to watch

I'm intrigued with a high powered offensive philosophy with this hire. It's been so long since CU has had that

I couldn't say yes or no yet, gotta read about him. Another coach I know next to nothing about.

It would be great if instead of just a “no” or “hard pass” people actually explained why they are so against someone.

all I see is a guy who has never seen a big boy recruiting room, who has been a HC of a team for 5 years with his best season being 7-6 ( covid year is invalid)

Curt Cignetti on the other hand is a bonafide winner, who has worked in real recruiting rooms.

Jeff Traylor is a hard nosed recruiter. With legit ties to Texas.

Sean Lewis is a great offensive mind, and nice results to show for it(but so did MikeMacs Airraid in SJSU), but has shown nothing in the WL column as a HC. Sure he’s played some crazy OOC games. But hiring a 32 year old who’s 21-27 is wild.

He’s 36, but fair enough. Cignetti is at the far other end of the age spectrum being already in his 60’s which is pretty late to get your first P5 HC job but he certainly has won a lot in the Colonial league.

Can't figure out the 247 board's obsession with this guy. It has to be because some rando that said he's "helped" on coaching searches before came in and said he's his No. 1 guy. Throw out the 21-27 record and the poor recruiting. I'd be very worried if he didn't bring his OC Andrew Sowder with him. Whenever I watch this team it's more flashy offense than good football team.

If he's back in the MAC CCG this year, he belongs on our short list.

He's not showing himself to be the next Urban Meyer to come out of the MAC, but he's proving himself to be a winner who has sustained success after turning things around. Also, there's a clear identity and that would be a fun offense for us fans.

You answered your own question. This is a board that thinks Maximus the great has good insight on the innerworkings of the football program

It's been discussed, but look at that program before he got there, and dive deeper into the records of each season. He is lights out in MAC play, but the overall record takes a hit because they schedule legitimate top 15 teams for pretty much every non-conference game, mostly because that program has no resources and playing those games earns them a nice pay day and that's how they sustain it. Also, they haven't necessarily been cake walks for those big programs.

Kent gets the benefit of being in the MAC East. The MAC West is much much better top to bottom. I don't mind the idea of hiring a young G5 head coach, I just think there's a lot more risk involved in Lewis than Rahne or Arroyo tbh. Sowder would be absolutely key if they hire Lewis.

The Arroyo crush is the one I don’t get. I’d at least want to see how the rest of this season played out before really giving him a look, and ideally would want to see next season as well.

Yeah Macintyre pulled off 1 good full season at SJSU and there are people who want Arroyo with less than 1/2 a good season at UNLV.

That makes 0 sense to me

At least Sean Lewis has a very interesting offense and sneaky good record when taking OOC into account

Not looking good tonight.

checks every box for me.
big boy recruiting is no different. With our resources, we aren’t big boy anyway.
But He will be in Madison WI

This is not directed at you specifically, but I love this period when your team has a HC vacancy and the stock of every potential candidate goes from “this is the guy” to “hard pass” based on the outcome of every game week to week.
No question about it, I love riding the roller coaster. We're all window shopping right now, why not react wildly to every result?

I have an open mind on Lewis. Don't know too much about him.

Watched UNLV get punked by Air Force last night. I'll pass on Marcus Arroyo. That team turned it over three times in their own territory by the halfway point of the second quarter.
