Damn. Most certainly Rhule is taking them to the woodshed in negotiations but probably worth it for Nebraska

Rhule is a really good coach and on paper would be a home run for Nebraska. But then again, people said the exact same thing about Frost when he was hired.

Rhule is a better builder than Frost. Frost let the program legend business get to him and was a terrible leader.

Detect no lies, but point remains that seemingly amazing hires sometimes fail and I’ll be hoping this is another one of those instances. Of course, if CU can finally get its thing together I won’t really care about what’s happening in Lincoln one way or the other. As my man Jim Kelly put it, we’ll be too busy looking good.

They can hire Rhule or anyone else, it isn't going to change the realities of the program.

No matter who goes there he has to live up to the Osborne shadow, and the moment things look bad they will demand that he do things the Osborne way.

They also face the reality that recruits no longer consider Nebraska a destination program. Go to Texas, California, Florida, etc., the top talent centers for elite recruits and you don't find kids dreaming of getting an offer from Nebraska. A red jacket with a block N on it doesn't automatically get coaches into a kids living room.

Unfortunately for them they play in a league that has some schools that do have that access to the elite recruits. Even if Nebraska is much better they are still going to get drilled every year that they have Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, on their schedule. Most of the time they will be behind Wisconsin, Iowa, even Penn State and/or Michigan State.

They can get themselves (with their normal pathetic OOC schedule) up to consistently winning 6-8 games per year and going to lower level bowls but it won't be long until the fans won't be happy with that and will make life miserable for the coach.

Mybe, but he will get a lot more out of what they have left than Frosty.
He will, he can get them to that 6-8 win level which gets them to bowl games letting the red polyester horde escape that hellhole state for a few days in the middle of winter.

They will love him for a few years but eventually 6-8 won't be enough and they will make life hard on him until he is gone.

He's a solid coach who knows how to win.

He isn't a miracle worker. The obstacles in Lincoln are bigger than he is.
The obstacles in Lincoln aren’t bigger that those in Norman, Ames, Madison, Eugene, Champagne, Iowa City, or any number of college towns

The NIL money in Lincoln will be off the charts.

Sorry to say it but the Nubs with Rhule will be on their way back.

If Bo Pelini did it (over 70% win percentage) Ruhle can too unfortunately.

Disagree.

Norman has B12 titles and major bowls to show, even a couple of playoff appearances along with some Heismans and multiple 1st round draft choices. Top recruits, especially in Texas are excited to get an OU offer.

Oregon has the uniforms, the bowls, the high draft picks, even Iowa can show those along with Wisconsin. They have been relevant in these kids lifetimes.

Iowa State may be a comparison. Win enough games to get a second level bowl but fall short of the ring.

Rhule is a good coach and as I stated he can get them to bowls. He isn't though going to get them to the major bowls, they aren't going to sniff the B1G championship and that is what those fans think they deserve.

NU has the same problem we do but worse. At lease we have been to a conf championship this century. Think about that. They are also a laughing stock for all 18 year olds and reside in Stincolin.

You are forgetting the NIL support that Nub fans willl pour into those kids. That will matter more than history.

It isn't like kNU is the only school that will do that. If you think that the nubs will out NIL the other schools on your list it isn't going to happen.

Nubs are a top 5-10 fan base in the country, plenty of money, unlimited resources from the school and no competing sports interests.

I think you are way off here
