Deion Sanders - HC Jackson State

I’ve been away for a few weeks, and watched the rest of this miserable season play out in solitude. Seeing the players get a boost of excitement, even when things on the field were stacked against them, hopefully showed the higher ups that this needs to be fun along with being focused and disciplined.

Hearing things unfold last weekend, while watching Michigan hand OSU their asses in wrapped and bowed boxes, definitely brought some excitement to the weekend despite knowing Utah was going to absolutely mud hole the Buffs a few hours later.

My brother-in-law thought I was crazy, and Prime was going to stay south…maybe he was just bummed that the Nubs got Rhule instead of Prime?

I was unsure at first, but doing some light reading when the buzz kicked off…Prime is the multi-faceted personality (focus, discipline, mentor, teacher with a larger-than-life personality that can rocket-boost a brand) that this program needs.

I cannot wait until things are official (hope is still the key) and the giant ball of on-the-field and off the field rebuild is underway.

if the buzz is for real, I’m ready!!

Andy Wang needs a recommendation for a moving company.
I don’t want to make this a thing, but Andy Wang received some very nice promotions at CU, which *should* be a good launching point for his career. That’s up to him. He is gone now from CU, which happens in college sports. It appears he now lives in the state of Kentucky and is looking for his next gig.

I also see many similarities between Coach Prime and Mac. Mac recruited many great black players from places like Compton. It's all about recruiting. I think Sanders will be a great recruiter. I don't buy the argument that Boulder is too white. The facilities are 100% better than what Mac inherited. Remember that small white cinderblock locker room that you could not squeeze a cat into?

I read this post and in my head heard Sanders' voice saying "You can’t win without the great black athlete"

Deion would land a 5* within the first couple years
First 12 hours

nm Jens beat me to it
Deion Sanders is probably the most polarizing hire of this year and it will be magnificently good or a tragic failure
indeed was THE most polarizing hire, the buffs haven’t had this much airwaves and tv time since the 90’s.

I know all you guys love him, but everyone realizes he comes with a ton of risk right? Fancy speeches don't sound great when you lose 5 in a row.

your logic impedes your happiness

The biggest complaint about Prime his entire career in sports - telling it like I see it here - is that he's "too black" and his brashness, outspokenness and new school attitude toward many things makes traditionalists (I.e., many white folks) very uncomfortable.

Damn, Nik. With Coach Prime saying he's just getting "comfortable" yesterday, some insightful words right there.

Interesting thread to revisit.
