CU Coaching & Support Staff Moves

Yeah but, come on, he thought he had a chance to be retained? Does he have a relationship to Coach Prime? Was he wildly successful? Come on.
I thought he told the players that he probably wasn’t going to retain any coaches? Sanford seeks like a quality guy and I wish him well. He should be an option for UNC-Greeley. They would benefit from his positivity, his ability to connect with players and their families.

he’s still going to get paid his full salary too which gives him some time to land somewhere this year or next too.

Ms. Sanford just posted that they found out on the local news he wasn't being retained. Unnecessarily harsh. Not this program's best moment.
Why the **** are we talking about this? We are under contract to pay him $1.5M over the next couple years.

There are buyouts in this industry for a reason. Not only that......but this team was that ****ING bad. Really hard to feel bad for a group of coaches we paid $12M to go away after what we spent all fall watching.

Move on.

I think they said he gets 2 years of sary, the rest one.

Sure. But being professional, even when you don't have to be, is the decent thing to do. It's a bad look and an unforced error. Treating people well doesn't cost money and can pay dividends down the line.

I was coming at it from how it reflects on CU, not on how badly Ms. Sanford is crying into her barrels of cash.

Basics of a Zimmer defense:

  • 4-3 base scheme, frequent use of 4-2-5 nickel package in passing situations
  • primarily press-man coverage
  • extensive blitz variations, including signature double-A gap blitz formation, but does not blitz frequently
  • Stop the run first mentality

Belichick: "I’d say that’s one of their real strengths is they give you a bunch of, not so much different looks but different combinations off similar looks. You have to be ready for everybody…Sometimes it’s strong side, sometimes it’s weak side, sometimes it’s up the middle, sometimes it’s man, sometimes it’s zone, sometimes it’s blitz zone, sometimes it’s all-out blitz, sometimes it’s just max coverage and they drop everybody off but off that same look."

1. well stated
2. parenthood is making you soft

I'm too tired to be an asshole lots of times.
I've posted before about the ROI of parenthood; the amount of one's energy that goes into it is probably more significant than the financial or temporal costs (i.e. sounds like you're doing it right)
