can somebody tell me why patting the ball is bad?

It is because it causes a delay - timing and margin of error is much smaller in the NFL than in college ball. When you decide to throw the ball - throw it - don't take a split second to pat the ball. Is it a fatal flaw? No.

Maybe read literally one or two posts up from what apparently got you so upset.

Ah, one nice thing. It’s seems to me you don’t understand that you can be critical of someone and still think they’re a good player.

This board has become a really weird place when you bring up anyone in the Sanders family…at least if you’re saying something that some deem even the least bit negative.

I’ve also knocked him for patting the ball (only an issue because he does it EVERY throw), poor pocket awareness, which I admitted may have sprung from playing behind a historically bad line in ‘24, holding the ball too long, and having a persona that rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

Nothing in there that hasn’t been pointed out by a whole bunch of other people.

The only other things I’ve brought up were just things said by scouts and other media people, which seem to have some truth to them based on what happened with the draft.
