Utah game for pac-12 South championship

USC is probably going to finish the season as a top 10 team - I'm not sure we finish ranked ahead of them if we lose our last game of the season even if it is in the CCG. We'll both be 3-loss teams and they beat us.
Seems lame to be punished for playing on the conference champ game but I could see it

Buffs will have to play their way into the Rose Bowl, no matter what. They will not back in if they lose in the CCG, which might have been the case if not for USC's turnaround. If USC beats Notre Dame, they will have ended their season on a huge win streak, and might be a lock for the Rose Bowl if the CCG winner goes to the playoff. What would be interesting, is if CU beats UW in the CCG and does go to the playoff, would USC get into the Rose Bowl ahead of UW, who lost head-to-head against USC? I think they would. Unless Notre Dame pulls off the huge upset next week. So, GO IRISH.

Huh? If CU wins the CCG and goes to the CFP, the Rose Bowl would be SC vs UW...

Seems right and fair, doesn't it? To me, it just feels like USC deserves to be the South champs if the Buffs can't beat Utah at home (while CU deserves it if they can win that game). And that's exactly how it played out. I never really felt it with Utah since they lost to Cal and have been in so many close games they never seemed like a great team, more like a decent team that was better coached than everyone they played.

If CU wins out, I suspect we will be left out of the CFP tourney and get to the Rose. (deja vu 2001). The Pac12 will not get a 2 loss team to the dance IMO.

If CU does not win out, USC will go to the Rose Bowl as they will pass CU in the CFP rankings. USC-bias. But they did beat us head to head.

Unfortunately I think this is our fate. Just have to enjoy it.

Some things would have to break very well for us.

A win by Michigan State over Penn State would be very nice.
Michigan winning out would be nice.
Oklahoma State beating Oklahoma would be nice.

Just keep doing what they have been doing, going 1-0 each week. The chips will fall where they fall but I do think if we win out, our destiny is the Rose and for me, that will work and not complaints. I would hope we would make the CFP but would not be surprised if not.

After the last decade, it is just so ****ing much fun to be in the conversation. Yesterday, I had 5 people in the Frankfurt airport tell me Go Buffs and start talking about how cool it was to see CU being good again (I had my CU hat and hoodie on). It is a good story and fun for most football fans (sans Nub fans)

Some things must be .gif'd:

You want to be the man, you got to beat the man.

Saturday is going to be absolutely epic.

No way this team loses to Utah at home with what's on the line. Also, this is senior night for all of the guys that have had a turbulent ride, we OWN this!

So peeps think if Oklahoma wins out, they'll get the nod over us for the CFP? Even if we win out, Pac12 conf title included? Not sure I agree with that. Don't me wrong, I'll breath a huge sigh of relief if Oklahoma State wins next weekend but you have to think a conference title would at least put us past the Sooners.

Yeah - we need to win out and not get selected to the CFP (likely anyway) to get to the Rose Bowl.

There is no other path, unless SC does the unthinkable and loses to ND.

If we win out, including a CCG win, we'll jump OU. 11-2 P5 champion with multiple top 25 wins and both losses to likely top 10 teams on the road. That's going to trump a 10-2 P5 champion with a loss to Houston.

It's really irrelevant though, imo, unless Michigan beats tOSU in the Horseshoe with a backup QB - I doubt that happens. Even if we beat a top 5 ranked UW in the CCG, the final 4 will most likely be Bama, tOSU, Clemson, and Pedo State. Our ceiling, imo, is #5.

Sucks that Utah fell to #21 (I'm predicting a similar fall in the CFP rankings) - that really hurts our resume, because a second loss will most likely bounce them.

If we beat the Yoots and UW wins in Pullman, we'll only end up with 1 victory over a ranked team going into the final weekend.

Utah will be ready to play but cu will put up same type of numbers that oregon did.

2 concerns, their de sack machine and that rb.

Never say never but this team has been through way to much, their focused, hungry and have lost 3 straight brutal games to the utes.
