'12 CA TE Taylor McNamara (Verbal to Oklahoma)

He would be the pass catching TE to compliment the big run support guys we got coming in. The real deep threat. Sort of a big need.
 
If he's serious when he says he wants to play early I highly doubt he's gonna go to ND.

I think he's been positive about all the schools, but I think he only singled out JE as a coach. Being a guy that has a shot of playing on Sundays, I think that will play a part. I think we have a good shot.
 
I'm sure Embree would love to run 2 or 3 tight end sets like they do at Stanford and in the Pros. Always room for more TE's.

I was thinking the same thing. Just as easy to run the wrong route, drop the ball, or not block from the WR as it is from the TE.

From the looks of things DeVaughn was an experiment that didn't work. We already have a couple of TEs commited who will block. Even without McNamara it was going to be hard for him to see much of the field next year. Don't think things are going to be much better for him at WR.

I could be wrong and something click for him in the offseason. It would be nice to have a guy who is that tweener, to big for the DBs and to mobile for the LBs and he has the athletic ablility to do it. Just haven't seen it translate into results on the field and I don't think that Embree is going to have a huge amount of patience with him after this season.

Do we have a legitimate chance here? What is everyone's prediction? His video is absolutely ridic. The play where he breaks like four tackles and then high steps into the endzone lol.

Love that his highlight film has a clip of him getting flagged for excessive celebration. HAHAHA. Otherwise, he looks very impressive.
