Glad to see his jump in the rankings.

Never understood this feeling that he was a reach.
The film speaks for itself.

when this was started the concerns were these:
6'3"
Suspect handle
lacked court vision to be a point
suspect shooter
average rebounder despite his "length" and bounce

Summed up the initial concern was you had a short combo guard, with long arms who could jump and didnt do much else well, basically a poor-man's JHop. Hop was the #1 player in AZ sattterwhite was top-10 basically it continued a pattern of us not recruiting as well as we had. Most of us admitted if Satterwhite could grow into that body, work on his D, and shot, you may have a prospect; that was a lot of ifs, and as is evidenced by the fact NAU and Grand Canyon worked him out with offering - people were skeptical.

Really glad to see his game progresing so much, any word on how tall he is these days?

If it is an ACL then we/he are lucky it happened now instead of during the HS season. He is likely to miss the HS season but he will have plenty of time to fully recover before coming to Boulder next year. He should be recovered in time to participate fully next spring/summer and be in shape for his freshman year.

Bad news is that he has apparently been developing very fast as a player and this will set that back.

Wonder if this makes him a candidate to RS his freshman year at CU. Probably depends on if he is fully recovered and how his development is going.

I really hope Satterwhite's injury it's not ACL serious. Heard he's really stepping up his game, garnering more national attention, and looking like a real steal. Sounds like he's staying positive and hopefully he can come back where he left off. If it is an ACL, the Buffs should be able to bring him along slowly so there aren't any major setbacks. The Derrick White pickup looks pretty good as a stop gap until our boy is 100 percent.

Also as FYI rumor... someone on twitter said the injury probably could've been prevented if there weren't so many Jordan logos/decals on the floor during the tournament.

Were they taking the advice from the UW floor managers?!?

If he's not signed can Tad pull the offer and look elsewhere?

Technically, yes. But we'd get blasted pretty hardcore (and rightfully so) to do something like that.

It's a risk you take with taking an early commitment.

HCMM cut a few guys loose toward the end of our recruiting cycle last year (Boogie etc) and they weren't even injured. Is there a different perspective on that practice in hoops?

Boogie had a torn ACL and was recruited by the D coordinator that is no longer here so that is a little different. And when I say a little I mean completely.

How in the world do you rectify those statements given Satterwhite's current status?

Because Tad recruited him. Obviously if a new D coordinator comes in he is going to want to recruit his own players. And Boogie had major weight issues which were going to hamper his recovery.

EDIT: Boogie also tore his ACL during near the end of his senior year so he didn't have nearly as much recovery time as Cameron would have.

More players than just Boogie were "encouraged" to explore other options last year. To me this is an apples to apples situation. I am sure Cameron is a great young man who deserves a scholarship somewhere, but turning him into a Pac 12 caliber guard was a project coming in and it looks like that project just got delayed.

What if Dorsey or another high profile guard was looking at the Buffs right now, would you have a problem with Tad telling an unsigned lower tier player to check out his other options in that case? I am just trying to determine when it's okay to look out for the overall well being of the Colorado Buffaloes.

And just so we are clear Oneal, all FB commitments are accepted by HCMM. Someone else may be the lead recruiter but they are not in the position of accepting a commitment.

Turning a kid away because of injury is significantly different than telling a kid to explore other options.

Turning kids away because of injury is not going to help you on the recruiting front going forward.

Satterwhite's injury is concerning but let's not jump past what we know right now. Basketball is full of kids who have come back from injuries. Satterwhite's injury occurred well before he will be entering CU.

Let's see how he responds to rehabilitation before panicking and calling on Tad to dump him.
