I don't think he'd be good on tv. Not sure what his options would be there.
Chip Kelly was awful on TV. I really don’t think networks care as long as the coach can offer their “coachy” insights.

Lets be real honest, looking at Louisvilles hires in the past for all sports, not sure they do any background checks. And the presser is tomorrow already. Meanwhile in Boulder...
Maybe they used an expediated background service?
Or none at all. They did, in fact, hire Bobby Petrino twice and Steve KragthorpeAnd the presser is tomorrow already. Meanwhile in Boulder...

Yeah, I guess he just doesn't really like his options this year, as he has to know Helton is pretty much a lame duck coach save for a Pac 12 Championship and CFP bid. I guess a year in SoCal coordinating an offense of better athletes than he's worked with the last 4-5 years isn't a bad gig. He's going to flop there and Helton will be gone next year anyway.

Just read HCMM is interviewing for Ole Miss DC
Good for him! That might halve what CU owes FHCMM.
No. It won't.Good for him! That might halve what CU owes FHCMM.
No. It won't.
CU owes him his full salary unless he is either a NCAA HC or any type of coach in the NFL. Him being a NCAA DC allows him to "double dip"
It will have to be negotiated because the offset language is pretty clear.Maybe - but my guess is there is some gray area here and if HCMM takes a DC job, his buyout gets negotiated lower.

Yeah, it doesn't say P5 HC job, it says NCAA HC job, right? Quite certain he could get one of those if he wanted, but sounds like he hasn't even interviewed or gone through the motions in order to satisfy those requirements. If the Ole Miss DC job is his only interview and he accepts, I would imagine he would negotiate something lower. Although, Jimmy Sexton is a wild card as an agent, so you never know.Since you seem to know the language, doesn't the nature of the language in the contract also indicate that he must make full effort to get a Head Coaching or NFL job? If so, and he grabs a DC position.... then it seems quite reasonable to expect them to negotiate the buyout in lieu of a legal battle

Which in his case, would be a good faith effort to find a HC job or assistant job in the NFL.The contract is here
Go to page 50/78. It says plainly that the offsets are only for college HC and any pro coaching job. He is not required to make a good faith effort to find a HC job. He is only required to make a good faith effort to find employment with employment scenarios that offset.
