2018 Rocky Mountain Showdown (8/31)

Lots of bravado on here, we all know how that usually plays out. This isn't the 85 bears defense and until we see this OL , might want to chill a bit.

Add in our DC and new oc, I'm hoping for a win even by half a point.

While this game doesn’t scare me as much as it used to, it is definitely a possibility to lose to the Rams if we don’t come to play.
However the trend is finally going in our direction.
Buffs have won 7 of the last 10
3 in a row and 4 out of last 5
61-10 combined score last two years
Bobo is 2-7 vs his 3 big rivals

CSU usually doesn’t fare well in this game with a new QB, and we need to humiliate the Rams, especially if we want to come out and prove last year was just a minor hiccup in the Rise.

What worries me the most about this game is the emotion and the possibility for blowback from last year’s game. I would expect the officials will call a very tight game and as I’ve said before, there could be some bias in the calls. I’m particularly curious how the matchup of the Buffs physical WRs vs the ewes CBs will be judged.

This Barry Wesley kid, CSU's starting LT, wasn't even a scholly kid? True freshman walk on is starting at LT?
Looks like he made their first depth chart as the starter, with a grad transfer from Louisville backing him up. Either the Louisville kid is being sent a message or this Wesley kid is really good?

Why assume that either is particularly good?

That can only go so far.
My gut tells me this is a close game early with some favorable calls to CSU from the officials. However CU’s talent takes over and Buffs run away with it in the 2nd half.

I think the D will be improved for them, and they've adequately replaced all their top players, except perhaps the OL. If the OL is as good as they've generally been, we will have to outscore them. It would appear that their OL may be a weak point which if true, could make it tough on them. It's not like we expect out DL to be our strong point, but I do think we will be much improved.

As long as there is an other pay-for-OPI and the refs keep it on the downlow from FBI, this game is in the bag. Again.

I hear this term all the time. I don't know why it's used, unless in jest. Most of the time, it's not.
