Bo Nix is in the portal. A good amount of chatter is saying he is going to Nebraska. Of course, it could be the biased dome of Nub news since I live in Omaha. Not sure why a three-year starter for a decent SEC school would come to Stincoln to see Frosty’s career be wheeled to the morgue?

The Bo Nix Experience is full of surprises.

Seems odd. You don’t suppose it had anything to do with, you know...money? This sport is becoming a mercenary game right before our eyes.
May have had something to do with reuniting with the AHC from OU his first two seasons? The sport has been a mercenary game for decades, brining it into the light isn't the problem.

Edit: What Duff said

But Max says there are already seven NFL OL on the roster. How can any new OL player come in to CU and expect to get any playing time?
You must not have been over there in awhile. Think a lot of y’all would love current Max.

Yes please. Tre’Mond Shorts was a three year starter for East Tennessee State at Left Tackle, received a ton of accolades, huge guy. Exactly the type of one year rental CU needs. Instant starter and gets a power five showcase for the NFL.
If we can't beat out the other schools who have offered, we have serious, SERIOUS issues.

Anyone with start now talent is looking to burnish their resume. One look at the anemic numbers CU WR, RB, TE and QB’s put up in a weak conference will quickly dissuade them from coming to Boulder. Add in the uncertainty of who will be the OC (or OL coach) not worth the risk for a talented kid. The slo mo train wreck hasn’t stopped yet, why would anyone jump on?

This is what some ignorant posters on this site can't seem to grasp. We are NOT a first or even second tier choice for any legit players looking to raise their game and/or get noticed.

Money or not, Rattler is a mercenary by definition. He's transferring to start somewhere next year, put together an audition tape, and maximize his NFL Draft position. It would be a surprise if he learned the fight song or spent any time on campus other than for football-related activities.
SEC recruits dont go to class on campus anyways.

In most cases yes but a guy with 1 year left is looking for a P5 guaranteed starting spot and because we suck and can’t recruit we have plenty of those kind of spots to offer.

What you mention are all certainly headwinds, but we are looking at “start now” talent for CU, which is hardly the same across the power 5 conferences. There may be less than 10 programs in the P5 that offer the same depth chart opportunity as CU. And remember, this kid isn’t looking at the next school as a home. He’ll be on campus maybe nine months. Winning and losing really doesn’t matter all that much. He wants to showcase himself against P5 defensive lines. Right now, he can say he was a three year starter at East Tennessee State and was all-conference, but there will always be those doubts about the lower tier competition.

What can CU sell?
>very appealing depth chart
>strong competition against TCU, Minnesota, USC, UCLA, to showcase yourself
>power 5 strength and conditioning program run by Shannon Turley who helped a lot of Stanford linemen make the NFL
>head coach that was a long time NFL assistant

If other P5 schools get in the mix, they may offer something more appealing. They would also likely negatively recruit against CU based on the staff uncertainty.

Or CU could just give up and not recruit hard ‘cause we may get tuned down.
