I'm not following. you specifically used 'revenue', not 'earnings' -- was that intentional?CSU gives up revenue every time they play a football game, Nik. That's not anything new.
I said it in the beginning. It's a guaranteed appearance fee like you get from a bowl game. The money's more than you earn from a home game. Probably have a ticket allotment to sell and then a piece for above that, too.ok, I'm trying to understand your assertion that there's more money in a neutral site game for ASU than keeping it at home. the media revenue isn't it as that's split evenly between conference members. we agree it's not attendance. Haven't dug in, but I'm not believing it's merchandise and concessions.
I'm not trying to be argumentative, but help me out -- where do you see the additional money coming from for ASU if they give up their home game with us?

apologies, I wasn't aware that an appearance fee was in play and didn't see your previous comment about that.I said it in the beginning. you're clearly mocking me, but I'm not understanding why. I realize I'm opening myself up for further mockery by politely asking you to explain why my question wasn't appropriate, but I'm really curious.
Here's one from 8 years ago where they say that Alabama & VA Tech split $5M for the Kickoff neutral site opener.apologies, I wasn't aware that an appearance fee was in play and didn't see your previous comment about that.
assuming ASU gets an appearance fee north of $3m, you make a good point. do you have some information on where that fee would come from (assume you're hearing rumors of a corporate sponsor)?

who do you think is going to be the desert version of Chik Fil A? Does it make financial sense for the Pac to pony up that kind of money if a corporation doesn't bite? Here's one from 8 years ago where they say that Alabama & VA Tech split $5M for the Kickoff neutral site opener.

I was dunking on CSU more than anything with that take, but my perception is their FB program is a fairly large money pit for them RN. Here's what I'm talking about-we got $33M ish in revenue from the Pac 12 deal last year. From the MWC TV deal, CSU pulls in about $4M yearly. That program has to be something people want to come see in person because the TV revenue isn't the thing at that level that it is for a school like CU (possible exclusion for the service academies-who are like BYU in the sense that they have a built in fanbase), and they haven't hit that standard (for lack of a better team) since Sparkles left there. They were mediocre under Bobo, bad under Addazio, and I didn't see a program that looked like it was trending in the right direction when I watched them play this year.
Factor in the new stadium (which I'm sure they have a fair amount of debt on).......and uh oh.

You stated ASU would make more by moving the game off campus. I guess I just assumed you had some information behind that point that led you to make the claim. How should I know who would buy sponsorship rights? It was just leaked last night by our coach.
