I don’t understand how he was so successful at Nevada. Was he there with Jordan Love?
Jordan Love went to Utah State.

Well then there you have it. I just don’t know why a guy would succeed at Utah State and not at CSUJordan Love went to Utah State.

**** me. Sorry I meant why would Jay Norvell succeed at Nevada and not at CSU.Seems like you are off this morning. Jay Norvell coached at Nevada with a QB named Carson Beck.
Guess you need to hit up the coffee pot this AM.
**** me. Sorry I meant why would Jay Norvell succeed at Nevada and not at CSU.
yea, why do we care about this conversation at all at this point? CSU is now completely irrelevant for 6 years or something.
He needs more buyout money already?Jon Gruden just done an interview with CBS stating he wants to be a college coach

Florida. Super Bowl with the Bucs makes him a big deal in FL. And UF has shown a complete willingness to look the other way if you win, as they showed with Urban.Jon Gruden just done an interview with CBS stating he wants to be a college coach
His career was like a rocket ship after his success at North Texas parlayed into the USC gig.
Walters will have to give Cory Patterson a try as play caller, and he will not likely do any better.
Following a guy who figured out how to win there in Jeff Brohm isn't helping him.Walters will have to give Cory Patterson a try as play caller, and he will not likely do any better.
Ryan is on thin ice for keeping his job much longer if he has another 4-8 or worse season
Firing Walters cost Purdue $14 Million and firing Norvell costs $85 MillionFollowing a guy who figured out how to win there in Jeff Brohm isn't helping him.
Mike Norvell's seat got a little warmer last night. FSU no-showed.
Walters would be a guy I would totally bring back as corners coach if he's canned. You guys are going to make fun of me because he's an alum, but if I can get a guy who has been a Broyles Award finalist on staff I'm doing it.Firing Walters cost Purdue $14 Million and firing Norvell costs $85 Million
Oh heck yeah, he is a brilliant DC and Corners Coach, and has a couple really good staffers on his staffWalters would be a guy I would totally bring back as corners coach if he's canned. Shurmur got hired as an analyst last year. I'm sure that's an option for Walters as well. I'm rooting for them, but that offense was putrid yesterday.Oh heck yeah, he is a brilliant DC and Corners Coach, and has a couple really good staffers on his staff
Prime needs to go the Saban Rehab Coaching system, bring in as many fired high quality coaches as possible, especially if you do good offset contracts
Urban was a relative cleanskin when UF hired him, it was UF that corrupted him
If he gets fired, he will get offered DC jobs the second that happensWalters would be a guy I would totally bring back as corners coach if he's canned. You guys are going to make fun of me because he's an alum, but if I can get a guy who has been a Broyles Award finalist on staff I'm doing it.
His defensive scheme is not easy to play and he doesn't have flexible mind to make it work for guys he has.If he gets fired, he will get offered DC jobs the second that happens
Walters was very successful as a defensive coordinator at both Missouri and Illinois. It's why he ascended so quickly to being a P4 head coach. His defensive scheme is not easy to play and he doesn't have flexible mind to make it work for guys he has.
His system in illinois is 3-4 based tight man. This system requires great NT, and a bunch of great CBs. Illinois happened to have those in his years there, all of their secondaries went to NFL afterwards.
Check out his defense in Purdue, it's awful. Because he doesn't adapt his system to Purdue's personnel.
I understand the obsession with our alumni on this board, but personally, I think Livingston is a much better DC than Walters, at least on college level.
I forgot his stint in Missouri. Yes, he did a pretty good job there as well. That makes it even stranger given how awful Purdue's D is.Walters was very successful as a defensive coordinator at both Missouri and Illinois. It's why he ascended so quickly to being a P4 head coach.
It has nothing to do with him being an alumni at CU. That is simply stating a fact. It could simply mean he's not good at organizing it as the head man at this point in his career.
I think Embree would have lost to Indiana State.Shurmur got hired as an analyst last year. I'm sure that's an option for Walters as well. I'm rooting for them, but that offense was putrid yesterday.
They may not win another game-their win is over an FCS team. They've had Notre Dame drop 66 on them. They had trouble doing anything against the Nubs. That's quickly approaching Embree level bad.
