2025-2026 Roster

Damn. He’s going to be waiting a long while to go out on a high note then. He had the perfect chance last year after the NCAA tourney. Sent three players into the NBA. D White wins a ring. Was transferring into basketball doom. Not really sure what he was thinking if that’s what he is waiting for.

Can’t we just go after The Mayor to head coach?
This is what I was saying last offseason. The time to "strike" was then. We've lost our window.

Chauncey is the more likely option. Hopefully we would get the "I'm already rich af/alumni discount."

Also need to figure out the degree status so he'd be eligible for the job.

Big time addition with limited subtractions. I really think we need two more high level transfers hopefully a SG/SF & a PF.

2025-2026 Projected Lineup:
PG - *Hargress JR / Sanders FR / Johnson FR
SG - (Transfer) / Kossaras SO / Inman FR
SF - (Transfer) / Crawford SO / Holland FR
PF - *Rancik SO / (Transfer)
C - *Dak SO / Ifaola FR

*projected solid starters

I appreciate the optimism. I’d guess we blew most of our load getting Hargress.

We definitely will sign a couple wing & forward types. I hope that Tad emphasizes big body guys who can bang a bit. Need that in the Big 12.

Hargress might end up being a good guard for CU, but he is small. May not be the messiah everyone is looking for at PG. Only time will tell I guess.
Also by this time last year most of the guys coming were pretty well in the pipeline. I haven't heard of any real targets to this point. Many of the good ones are already gone.

Baylor may be worse off than CU though They lost their entire roster per reports.

I am a bit surprised he is transferring from Syracuse. He had a sweet deal there and is the owner of a restaurant there which I figured would be a business prop that would keep him at Cuse.

Tad should consider taking Eddie back for a pack of smokes and future considerations, whatever those are--LOL. I liked the hair and we can always use another big body!

This is a 13 win roster. Again.
You think Tad will finish last in the big 12 again? No chance. It was crazy we were inches away from 17 wins last year and this year guard pool is way better and people think we will be worse?

I guess I'd ask, How is the guard pool better? Hargress could be good, he might be average, he might be bad. There is a lot of disdain on here for Hammond, and as a point guard I generally concur, He was not what was needed, but he was a known commodity and could score a bit. Plus returners with at least some experience in Ruffin and Smith. Kossaras, if that CBC showing was any indication, combined with this past seasons overall effort looks to be along way away from being ready. Josiah Sanders again might be good, but he might also be two years away. Playing grind session is not the same as the Big 12. So generally speaking from my point of view the guard situation is probably no better than equal to this past season, and based on many factors I'd say less than capable.

To the front line, Dak needs to take big steps. The talent is there, but in a major minute jump this year he was very inconsistent. If he gets more steady, that could be an improvement. Rancick, is bad on D and hasn't shown any level of consistency in shot making. If he comes aways he could be a solid contributor. I think Malone will be a steady factor on the block, maybe even a bright spot, if he can stay healthy. Even with that he probably ceases to be effective for more than 20-25 minutes a game. After that what do you really have? Crawford? Four other freshman in varying states of readiness? Portal players? There are lots of guys left in the portal for sure, but who is CU even trying to get? Will they help? This front line might leave the CU faithful missing Jakimovski, Baskin, Diop, and Carrington a lot. Unless the schedule is real easy in NC, or the rest of the Big 12 has a massive drop off, it could be a very rugged year for the buffs.

How many guards did we have who could get into the lane last year? Zero

How many guards will we have who can get into the lane next year- At least two Hargress and Sanders

This will open up so much on offense, drive and dish, will help open up shooters, end of shot clock shot creation, prevent turnovers, etc. Guards win in college basketball. I'm guessing if we land one more rotation big we will be fine, I'm not worried about what we lost on the front line one bit.

Rancik is going to make a huge Frosh to Soph year jump

Hargress vastly improves our turnover issues

A proven rebounder or 3 & D wing is the biggest missing piece, but Tad showed with Hargress he still has something left in the tank so I'm cautiously optimistic

I'm not convinced or overly impressed by any of the current talent or the ability of the staff to put together a squad that can win more than the 13 games predicted by DaLama. That said it is possible they could end up doing ok, but my guess, and it is only a guess, just like everyone else on here that pontificates the future of the Buffs, there will be struggles.

Technically he doesn’t. Probably trying for a waiver from his various missed games due to injury. If it works out he’ll get a couple hundred thousand in the portal. Same thing Fast Eddie is probably trying to do.

I'm cautiously optimistic as I don't think Hargress came for free. There have been a lot of rumors that we have NIL money but Tad doesn't want to run his team that way. If he has softened his stance on that we might land another big piece from the portal and have a decent season.

But I agree, this team will struggle unless Fawaz and a freshman guard are good immediately.

Was this one expected?

If Dak is our plan at C, we are furked in the Big12. There will be multiple teams that have guards that weigh more than he does.
